http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np6370-clevo-w370et-eta-329-p-4796.html?wconfigure=yes I don't suppose anyone is a wizard of international customs charging? Thai customs lists charges as being 0 - 80%, averaging at 20%. This laptop costs $1,000 - it would cost around $1,300 in Thailand. If I buy from the U.S. and get charged between $300 and $800... I'm a bit fucked. Anyone know how likely this is? Really way out of my understanding. Gaming laptops are difficult to get here, most gamers go to gaming cafes which seem pretty good value... could do that I guess.
I'm in Thailand. Will be here for at least 1 year. This is the only information I've found. http://www.dutycalculator.com/help_center/Import-duty-taxes-when-importing-into-Thailand/ Duty Rates: Duty rates in Thailand vary from 0% to 80%, with an average duty rate of 20.93%. Some products can be imported free of duty, e.g. laptops and other electronic products. The key here is 'can', I've been informed that most electronics get taxed... frustrating.
Yeah that's a problem. Funny thing is, if I recall correctly, xoticpc builds the laptops in Thailand, so I don't think you would have to pay anything as the laptop originates from there...
Really? I suppose labour costs would be lower, but component costs are significant. Will see, have emailed them.
