Today, i received my beta key for Ghost Recon Online. Whats funny tough is that i applied for it long before i found out about MWO
I LOVED Ghost Recon 2 for Xbox I. Haven't really played any of them after that, not a fan of the shiny bright blue colors and semi sci fi weapons.
Downloaded it today (not beta anymore apparently). Not bad fairly simple to learn. Need to experiment more though. It is f2p.
Ghost Recon hasn't been tactical since GR 2, unfortunately. Ubisoft dumbs it down more and more with each installment, just like the Rainbow Six series.

I kind of find it hard to believe, the Wii exactly duplicating the original Ghost Recon. This is a series that seriously should have never been put on consoles.
Dunno how close it is to the original. I think alot of games that are multi platform (console and PC) are not as good as they could be. GRO is supposed to be on Wii U at some point but only once PC version is truly finished. Which is stupid because Wii U players will never be able to match PC.
I played the Xbox version and had the PC version of the original Ghost Recon. I can tell you that except for story and missions, they were nothing alike.
the 360/pc games were the same way. the PC version is apparently always harder. Which is as it should be as far as I'm concerned. Think I'll check this one out next time I get a chance.
What made the PC version so long lived was a vibrant mod community. Not only was there the usual team death matches, but a complete gold mine in co op story missions for people to go through, as well a huge varieties of different weapons and mods for them. It was amazing.
So many pug teams making me work and carry in GRO and I'm not even that good. better than average but not great.
