Hey folks!::Raises a stein of Mead:: My names Jay, I just applied this evening but I figured I'd post an intro anyway. I'll be 31 in April. I'm married with two little guys (1year old and an almost 3 year old) I work as a Police dispatcher on the night shift (midnight-8am) I've been an EMT for 10 years and I also do a little bit of Instructor work at my community college. I'm one semester away from my associates in Criminal Justice. I've been a mechwarrior fan since Crescent Hawks inception and the books from the 80s. I'm a pretty casual gamer now due to my availability (I only get 2 days off every 4 and its usually from 10pm-5 or 6am on my nights off) I know you guys are more competitive but I do give 110% whenever I'm able to play. I hope to get to know you guys in the coming months!!!
Hey Jay, hey nobody can fault you for your busy schedule. One of the things that's nice about our groups is that we all seem to have an understanding that real life priorities far outweigh any video game. One thing I noticed is that you said your schedule for gaming tends to fall in the wee hours of the morning. You may be reasonably pleased to know we have a pretty consistent late night crew of several people. Some of us work that schedule due to work schedules and others due to insomniac tendencies. The fact remains that there are usually 4-6 of us on until anywhere from 3-4 or 5 am est. It's one of the things I really like about Skjaldborg because typically speaking in most communities the only people that would be able to game with me at those hours are the young guns in high school and they drive me crazy.
Awesome. Currently the folks I play with on SWTOR (an RP guild) are on till only about 1 or 2 and thats only when I get on during the weekends. I'll be nice to run with more folks during my play times. Thats the downside to a PvP focuses game it tends to attract the maladjusted teen nerds that haven't gotten over getting stuffed in lockers or trashbarrels and like to stroke the Epeen a bit too much (you'll go blind after all ) I do like the older crowd, as they tend to be a bit more respectful to hey I have kids watch your language requests. that being said I usually play with a headset Nothing beats the repeat power of a 2.5 year old that loves to talk LOL that 4-6 is enough for a Lance or 2 thats all that matters!
