Ground Branch is an upcoming tactical shooter that just recently appeared as early access on Steam. I have been following this game since earlier this year. What is there is fun but it still needs some work. The game itself have been in development for a very long time. Their current website was launched in april 2012 and by then the game had already been in developement for a while. The game is a passion project by the developers and they have primarily been working on it in their free time but development have picked up more pace recently.
It looks good, but I don't really know if there's room in people's budgets for both this and Ready or Not. How do you think they compare and which do you think would be a better fit for our group? My guess is that we won't really know until someone can play both to test them out.
While both are tactical shooters they do approach it differently. Ready or Not will have you playing as a SWAT team and you will have the same goal as one, saving lives. Going lethal is the last option and it's only for when everything else fails and you need to protect the lives of you and others. You can get some idea of what it will be like by playing SWAT 3 and SWAT 4. Ground Branch is more focused on straight up combat. Pushing for a similar feeling of the original ghost recon and rainbow six games. I have already played an older version of Ground Branch just not the early access version yet which I will play when I get the time for it. I will keep you updated with what I think and feel about it.
A follow up on my last post as i now have played it abit more. I can only agree with what the devs themselves have said about their early access version What is there is solid and fun and i can definetly recommend it if you are looking for a tactical shooter. At this point they don't have much to offer in the way of singleplayer but they are working on it.
