meh, first (and last) time I played arena I ended up getting trounced by the first three decks because they all ended up with some crazy legendary choices and I got bubkis.
I loaded some tutorials on how to build a raid deck. even with bubkis, if your deck is built right it'll rock
that's the kicker with Arena though, you're not guaranteed to get anything specific, you gotta work with what you're given, if you build on a specific pattern and don't get the cards you need for that well... suck it
Building an arena deck is less about a specific build (in fact you definitely do not want to do that), and more about understanding "value." For example, Senjin Shieldmasta' and Chillwind Yeti are some of the most value cards in the game, and understanding why they are is a key to building winning arena decks.
Well, they're not the kind of card you will put in every deck (though Senjin Shieldmasta' is the absolute best neutral Taunter in the game), but if they come up in an arena pick, you should almost always pick them (unless there is something better, of course).
My best run was 8 wins (back when the max was 9) with a Paladin deck that had a Light's Justice, 4 Truesilver Champions, and Tyrion Fordring. I had weapons coming out of my ass. It was glorious.
I like the Mogu'shan Warden, 4 mana for a 7 defense taunter, sure he's only got 1 attack, but he's a tough nut to crack. Put him in a priest deck and he can quickly become a force to be reckoned with. (though so can just about everything else, priest is OP sometimes ) my favorite combo with him though is simply him, plus a crazed alchemist, once the Warden can attack, they'll quickly regret not at least hurting him when they get hit for 7 on turn 4 (potentially) it's even more amusing when you can juggle your alchemist. Alchemist is also one of the more versatile cards in the game imho, every deck has some way to lower either one stat or the other, and even if you can't kill a badass outright, you can make him significantly less badass with a simple potion XD, or get rid of a high health guy (like mister Warden) with a weakling sacrifice (oh noes, my 1/1 takes 6 damage overkill and you lose your taunt!)
Just tried this for a bit on iPad, unlocked all the heroes and played a few casual games and 1 arena (went 0-3 due to pretty shit deck drawing, came out too expensive basically). Seems ok, but granted I haven't unlocked nearly all the cards and I have nothing better than a few rares. Rogue and priest seem pretty fun, although I've run into good decks with a bunch of different heroes like the druid.
it's pretty interesting, I've run into some very dominating deck builds of every hero type, the one I like least is the warlock, there's a lot of self sacrificing going on in that deck and, until you get Jaraxxus, there's only a couple of, situational specific, ways to regain health, and even that not much by comparison. However they do have some of the 'quicker' decks, most of their hitters are low in cost and since you can draw cards with your hero ability you're unlikely to ever be starved for options.
I keep having a general feeling of RNG being a more prominent component in any single match of Hearthstone, compared to other similar card games such as Magic: The Gathering. Anyhow, I play Hearthstone every now and then. It's okay. Wouldn't pay a dime for it though.
this is the game I play while watching Netflix on my other screen. Can't ever get to involved in it, but its a fun time suck.
In doing practise games to unlock all basic cards for each hero, then doing rhe quests. My free Arena games ended in 4 wins
I tried it on my phone at lunch today while I was waiting for my order. They did a remarkably good job fitting everything into the limited screen space. Wish they'd strip out all the logos and intro movies and stuff though. I spent more time on loading screens than actually playing.
until they make the game available to non-crapple users, I'm pretty much done with it, I got way more games with higher entertainment value on my PC to waste time on this game.
