I wanted to cast a general line and see if there was any interest (and if so how much) in forum-based roleplay among our members. It's something that I am quite fond of personally, and I would love the opportunity to cooperatively weave words with those of you who are like-minded. I've seen that some have taken to writing logs or short stories, and I think that's great. I'm not proposing that we eliminate those things so much as add new content to that: interactive stories involving multiple characters written over time. What exactly we would pursue depends on the interests of the collective. I think a supplement to the megamek campaigns would work well (and perhaps be the easiest transition). That's why this was posted here, however, if there is sufficient interest, we could look at expanding beyond that (and not even necessarily sticking to the BT/MW universe). As an example, a year or so down the road when Star Citizen is a more solidified, you better believe I'll want to do stuff with that. Not everything happens inside the cockpit. What does your character do outside of it? How would they react to hearing that the repairs on their ride are going to take longer than usual? What kind of friendships do they have off the field, and how did those form? What has caused your character to love and respect their brothers and sisters in arms enough that they will take that Alpha for them? Would they in the first place? Interested but nervous because you've never done it before or you don't feel confident as a writer? Don't worry, we're good people here. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who will be patient with you and show you the ropes. Writing is like like any other skill in that it comes with practice. Every pilot, every character, has such great potential for stories upon stories, and I want to see those come into being. If you do too, I'd love to work with you to make it happen. Even if there are just a few of you speak up, I will make a legion of NPCs to support our wordweaving if necessary.
I'm thinking I could be down for this, my time is really limited for the next month but thankfully we don't have to have everyone present to do anything.
i am fully supportive of this, but i will definitely be taking a back seat to it due to time constraints. i would be happy to help in terms of clarifying events or answering questions about canon though
