Well, in Whoville they say that the Mag's small heart grew three sizes that day. And then the true meaning of Christmas came though, and the Mag found the strength of ten megabits, plus two.

Dihm is very sick and trying to juggle ships and jobs, please wish him well!

Addressed recommended game list
-Watching MW5 as potential main game when it hits Steam later
-Can we add Dark Tide (like Vermintide but 40k)? Hasn't been posted in forums yet to garenr interest
-Avorion had lots of interest/server donations. Will probably come back to later; was hampered by limitations but will come back too after MW
-Elite Dangerous has a big content release coming; Magnus will post in forums to garner/gauge interest

Battletech tourney:
-planned to gear us up for the main campaign planned. Maybe a one-week tourney with brackets?
-x in chat: Trev, Solis, MostlyHarmless, Tanedin, Tzeench, Magnus (assumed)
- Even people who don't own it can piggyback with an invite, good opportunity to get familiar with mechanics
-Magnus will put a post in forums this weekend

Battletech campaign
-will follow immediately on the tourney, will be very involved.
-Magnus has a website set up. No players guide yet.
-Campaign will be co-op and persistent.
-MostlyHarmless may have some extra copies of Battletech
-Battletech Campaign will be fairly fluid, can accomodate time zones etc, Magnus wants as many people engaged as possible.
-Will probably run until MW5 drops on Steam.
-Direct new people who are interested to Magnus/Hirdmen. Make out community great(er)!

Lonely Mountain Physical Challenge
-Cephy came up with a physical challenge "Lonely Mountain Physical Challenge" for our community.
-Has a bunch of Middle Earth destinations.
-We are thinking of adding a weight lifting "slayer point" component as well with some Battle of Five Armies achievements.
-Magnus is a weak, buttery boy
-Discussion of units of measures. Will use what Tolkein used? We can convert later.
-We are all holding each other accountable for looking sexy naked (together)
-There's no prize, don't trash your body if you have health limitations

Return of Run-and-gun night
-Want an easy drop-in, drop-out gaming night
-Considering Deep Rock, War Thunder, Planetside... trying to avoid microtransaction hell as much as possible but also play stuif people have/can afford
-War buggy deathsquads
-Spiderparties
-No new announcements for War Thunder/ operation winter wrapping up today
-Migs suck (rightly so)
-Do we want to try to do private co-op event using WT?



DiscordBot update
-Magnus has finally figured out how bots work
-we're using a Rick and Morty one that's popular and free and has some gaming stuff https://mee6.xyz/
-we need the bot because it helps with admin stuff

-Do we want a music bot?
-copyright restrictions probably aren't an issue... unless maybe international differences?
-"rhythm" is apparently a popular music bot that can be prompted to join channels and play stuff. Can also be muted.
-Trev will put up a poll
-music bot may slow down server... will have to gauge resource consumption versus enthhusiasm

Avorion
-still getting major updates, looking good, fixing lag issues with high poly stuff out of rendering range

Elite Dangerous
-Magnus will post Odyssey update
-can get out of ship and drive a buggy and shoot stuff fps "something between Call of Duty and Arma"
-don't buy it yet, let Magnus be guinea pig
-Horizons now free if you own base game
-Multicrew now working per Blackfire


MW5
-no release date for Steam yet
-PGI got bought by umbrella corporation
-Steam release in spring will coincide with DLC (both free and paid content)
-EG7 (who bought PGI) also owns Daybreak, who made Planetside2. So MW5/MWO should be going for a number of years.
-random mission generation is bland/repetitive, hopefully new DLC helps with this.

Floor open:

Star Citizen
-Trev wants to get together a Star Citizen event, maybe take down an Idris. Trev will talk to Wolf who plays most consistently then post something to forums.
-There's a guide that can help Star Citizen fix stability by changing pagefile size https://mcci.com/support/guides/how-to-change-the-windows-pagefile-size/ (Trevnor Note: Change from stock to like 24000 MB(Or 32 if you're having trouble there)
-SQ42 schedule is still not announced (may be some stuff in testing by Q4 2021/Q1 2022?)
-Gas Clouds are cool

-we're all healthy (besides maybe getting fat during quarantines)

Blackfire is interested in getting together some VR stuff, looking to find out who else has a headset

Trevnor has a John Wick-style rail shooter VR workout game that's fun

Apparently VR chat is a thing now and it's a barrens chat full of furries and ugandaknuckles
