NDA in place so we'll leave this vague. Has anyone tried to setup/use a Joystick in our favorite Beta software these days? I'm very happy with my N52 + Mouse right now, but i'm wondering if the joystick would be better...and it just feels right to use a joystick for this. Any luck? Too frustrating to try? --Illydth
There's no analogue joystick support in Barbie Horse as of yet. They should be implementing it soon though, which should make all of the cantering and galloping much more immersive!
Ok now that the NDA is down i think i found the perfect "joystick" for people who have everything... http://www.novint.com/index.php/products/novintxio From the people who made the Falcon. Not that i think it would work very well for MWO but it is still a very cool idea. Virtual reality slowly creeps closer.
I've used mouse and keyboard, mouse and G13, X65f, and finally settled on, well for now, the throttle from the X65f with my G700 mouse and saitek pro combat rudder pedals. I knew getting the X65f that the force sensing would be hit or miss and at least for me I've not been able to adapt to it well. The speed of the mech in turning and aiming made the joystick feel really slow and clunky compared to the smoothness and speed of mouse aiming. For turning you can't beat the rudder pedals, granted flying for a living I'm used to steering with ruder pedals. Using the throttle has bee great allowing me to map most everything to the seemingly endless number of buttons and hat switches and is more comfortable to me than using a keyboard.
