I had some good fun with this game a while back but the 1 buddy who played with me mostly lost interest... Anyone else still like to kick wholesale zombie ass?
I haven't played KF in forever, but it was great fun. I have something like 200 custom maps for it still.
I can honestly say it is seriously worth the pick up. I believe 5 or six of us can play it at a time and with more people, the difficulty increases. The game can get VERY strategic and test your reflexes. I was always good as a Commando, even though it's only a "Support" Class cause their third tier weapon allows you to snipe pretty effectively.
Honestly, I was never a fan of L4D. KF is WAY more tactical than L4D, there is a ton more variety in levels since the devs released the SDK, and it's just a funner experience over all. You're also not limited to 4 people on a team, and you can have an entire team of just one character. The only "whacky" part of the game is some of the phrases the VA's have, especially when throwing money about.
Well...there are Christmas events where they released a Santa's north pole house map, and reskined all the zombies to be elves, nutcrackers, etc... I never played left for dead so I can't compare it to that. It is one of the games I just kind of let pass me by. I would kind of compare it to some kind of zombie styled Co-Op Counter Strike vs Bots, with RPG elements. It's a good game though. When It first came out it was a hoot. People on vent would literally start screaming in fear when they were swarmed and killed. lol
L4D and Killing Floor are both zombie games and that's about it, 2 very different play styles. Looking at steam it's $20, thought it would be less. I'd say its worth $20 still, but it goes on sale every so often so you may still want to wait... It's good fun though. A PVE game where 25% win rate is pretty good!
