It's not bad. Keep in mind that I only really bought it to pass the time until MWO comes out and to test out my new computer's potential. My one complaint is that most of the male NPCs I've talked with so far have a lazy left eye. I don't think it was intentional, and it's not a huge deal. It's just a bit distracting to see in a game. The gameplay isn't bad, and the quests aren't too cookie cutter. As far as combat goes, it's real time combat with a lot of mouse clicking. Anyone else played it?
The concept art/art direction totally left a nasty taste in my mouth, so I haven't paid much attention to it. I've heard decent things and seen some rather glowing reviews.
Compared to games like Skyrim and all these realistic gritty games, it does look a bit cartoonish. But I played Borderlands, so the art style doesn't really bother me. The combat is fun and there's plenty to do.
I've only played the demo, but I had fun with it. If I get less poor, I'd probably buy the full version.
Ug, Skyrim is cartoony as hell too, but that might be because I actually like/own real armor and weapons, not this fake fantasy shit.
True. But come on, having spikes coming out of everywhere would be completely practical. You'd never stab yourself with them or anything. Edit: Also, everyone knows sexy armor protects much better than conventional armor.
Obviously. The bad guys know they shouldn't attack the bare parts, so they hit the heavily armored areas and do less damage.
Used to own stuff for the SCA out west, but I got rid of it all when I moved to germany. Full plate, Halberg, Hand and a Half, with a buckler and Short sword to round it all out. That damn full plate helped me appreciate the light weight of today's shit in Iraq.
I was starting in the SCA, till I took an arrow to the kne... wait, no, my previously broken elbow started acting up and I couldn't hold the shield without pain any more, and it's still borked but the doctors can't find anything.
