So tonight on the Altis Wasteland, I spawned in way the fuck away from everyone, saw a guy land his Hellcat in the middle of the forest, then head off to the general store. Being a curious bear, I proceeded to stumble into his heli, find that my hotas wasn't working again (fucking X52), then locked the doors like a responsible bear and stumbled back into the woods. On my way back, The Hellcat pilot and I ran into each other. I lowered my pistol and continued on past, but he felt he needed a trophy and opened fire. Then I see he's bitching in chat that his Hellcat is locked and he spent $7k on it and all this stuff. If he hadn't killed me, I would have gone and unlocked the door for him. But trigger happy Johnny had to get all twitchy, so I didn't say a thing and let him think it was bugged.
I have to say that riding in the commander seat of a Kuma with my face glued to a UAV Terminal is really often the highlight of the night for me. Shockingly effective for an armoured column to have a thermal eye in the sky.
Hey Guys? I have a tank! Kuma up in the mountains. Update: We also have 2 ZSU's. We are back in business. Never mind. The server update wiped the vehicles.
so think i'll finally be able to get some arma time in this week. yay! is the wasteland server from the OP the place where the things are happening? i've admittedly only ever played epoch for arma3 multiplayer going through A3Launcher. are there any mods or other launchers i need to install before getting in game and figuring the rest out as i go? is just figuring it out on the go the best way to go about things or would a night of "arma training borg style for pids" be preferred?
I'd recommend a bit of both. You should be able to learn quite a bit on the fly in wasteland from everyone and it's not a formal setting like a mission, so your inexperience won't "hamper the mission" or whatnot. But definitely try to get with one of the guys and do some of the Borg boot camp. It's a great way to learn things
