When the PC is running you should be able to put your finger on the pump and feel it buzzing. If it's not buzzing it's probably dead.

I'd also double check and make sure the power connectors are all still plugged into the mobo and psu leads.

If you still aren't sure and still have the stock cooler you could swap them out to make sure before ordering anything. But other than that I would try what Skwi recommend.

It's hard to tell with three fans right beside it, but it feels like it's humming. I don't remember seeing any water when I took it out or seeing any on the table when I cleaned it, so hopefully it still has its liquid. And all the plugs are propely plugged. That was the first thing I checked.

MH, I don't have the original cooler since this was all a custom build. The liquid cooling is the stock cooling unit. I don't have an issue getting a new one since this one lasted me three years of pretty steady use, but I thought I'd check with you guys to see if there were any ideas.

I'm assuming it's a sealed system, in which case, if it lost it's fluids, you'd know pretty quick by the sound of sizzling coming from inside your newly acquired and very expensive paperweight ^.^ I haven't ever tried a water cooling system myself, but if all the wires are correctly connected and your getting overtemp issues it's either something wrong with the thermal paste or time to invest in a new heat sink. I'd probably check the thermal paste first. ^.^

Good point, I didn't think about thermal paste but if the cooler's been on there a while it's worth looking at.

Just to make sure, if you removed the cooler. You did clean the paste and put new thermalpaste there right?

Problem solved. The old pump appears to be dead. New cooling unit installed and it doesn't get above 55C playing SC. One fan on top, one on the front, and one on the side, all blowing out while one draws air in and forces it through the cooling unit's radiator.

So the pump part that moves the liquid was dead? Yea, in hindsight that makes a ton of sense. I assume the liquids were still fully contained?

Yep, the liquids are still contained, the pump just wasn't pumping. it lasted for three years, so that's not bad. But from now on, I'm running the air how I have it now. Had the cpu running 70% or higher for about 3 hrs and it never got to 70C.
