I don't mind since I'm aiming at making my own Moo heir ~2016-2018. Unless something else comes up Got one that I've worked on for more than 6 years now that is waiting for the right time to become sole focus again. In the meantime I wouldn't mind an 'official' Moo game coming up.
the level of positivity in this thread makes me wonder if I've slipped into some weird alternate universe.
Someone has to be "that" guy, so I'll do it. I'm getting a little tired of people trying to take advantage of nostalgia to sell me things. I don't see any real reason for this to be called MOO. They could have just as easily have made a 4X game and called it literally anything else.
Hey, one positive comment and a bunch of at worst neutral comments is way better than I expect on here about anything.
Come now, I'm excited. I'm tired of running the 256 color dos app that I still occasionally fire up. It's also one of those games that are why I'm doing what I'm doing today. It was the first strategy game I ever played and I instantly fell for it for decades to come. I even liked Master of Orion 3 which was a very badly misunderstood Empire sim game. People were expecting it to be Moo2 with new graphs plus some extras and it was essentially whole different genre on it's own right and people hated it for it. I played the shit out of it and I'm really looking forward to this new Moo. I'm also very jealous because I spent tens of thousands on a 4x game that is currently on life support waiting to be resurrected. At least these guys are probably going to get something published which is a lot after the fiasco that is known as Star Drive (by whole another group I know but I had high expectations and got pissed all over my expectations). And we're not that bitter group! Oy!
No... no I can't... I hadn't even seen that it did that nor do I know how it happened So if a forum admin gets a chance to they can, but I cannot edit the thread
I didnt play Master of Orion until years later. Masters of Magic though, that game blew my mind as a kid. I played it at a friends house. I watched his older brother play it mostly and it took 20 years to find a game that was comparable in scope. This game I am not very excited to see what wargaming will do. Hopefully no golden spaceships.
