The highlight of tonight's MegaMek shenanigans:

For some reason, MM is telling me that my Svinfylking 'mech is no longer legal, despite having changed nothing on it since I last saved the file.

Game settings haven't been changed, either. Only difference between now and three days ago is that we played our 1st/3rd match yesterday.

 

I'm guessing that the file was saved and re-accessed incorrectly. No more issues with it now.

In fact, I have a new version of the SVK-1H, the -2H that is 10 tons heavier and just as fast.

 

Just got running on this computer look forward to trying it out

 

I've noticed that you tend to be on at the equivalent of the early hours of the morning for those of us over here, obviously due to your own time zone. If you get on at the time so far tonight you should hop in the Teamspeak server and see if some of us are around; we'd probably be up for a megamek game.

 

yeah im doing nights for a week but il be back to normal GMT evening timescome saturday

 

I installed Megamek last night, is there anyway to run a bot game to get used to the interface & controls? I dont want to be fumbling around when others are waiting.

 

You can start the Scenarios to get a feel for the game. Also I'll be happy to do a training match when you want to try it out.

 

I'd highly recommend just hopping into TS and asking if someone wants to do a game. A lot of us play it a great deal, and have no problem teaching newcomers.

 

I read the couple pages of directions but still cant seem to be able to use ranged weapons at all, regardless of distance to target, I get "To Hit: Impossible" on all weapons and the Fire button on the bottom of the UI is never lit. Right clicking on enemy mech lists Fire & Alpha but neither work. I'm getting plenty of sparring practice and punching and kicking seem to be the only things that do work.

I jumped in TS at your suggestion but it been rather quiet this weekend.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

on some of the scenarios I had a weird issue with both teams being considered the same team, hence I was unable to fire on them. I did set the teams to different colors, etc, but still wasn't able to figure out why it put the ai bot and myself on the same team even when on opposing sides of the map. Not sure if you're running into something similar, but if you play multiplayer that hasn't been an issue.

 

Same issue here, is seems in the scenarios only melee combat is alowed.

ok... i dl'ed the latest version of Mega Mek... actually played a couple games against a bot... damn he kicked my ass. think he was haxorz. but would love to play with others, do you guys play a single mech/lance or what?

 

It varies from game to game, usually its one mech per player but we have run multiples before as well.

 

We should give you a proper trial by fire against some Clanners, Togg.
