For those of you who don't do German Longsword, Mordhau means 'murder strike'. I'm not even going to nitpick about shit, this just looks epic.
It's a risky business, making games. In their end, they gathered their target goal during first day of the campaign so assuming they've budgeted it right and all they shouldn't have any problems. Except for unforeseen shit hitting the fan and all. Maybe there was a thing in the video that was a little suspicious - the catapult fired a piece of rock to the wall, it hit the part of wall where defenders were standing and 'blew up' killing the defenders with AoE that reached beyond the rock's impact. Definitely interested in any case and looking forward to learning more about it.
Game is out. Not saying we should all go out and buy it, but reviews seem positive so far. Seesm to have both PvP and PvE? Looks like its the most realistic sword fighting game yet, but not sure how viable it is for our group. Just fyi. https://store.steampowered.com/app/629760/MORDHAU/?snr=1_4_4__100
There are three games modes right now. Frontline, Battle Royale and Horde. Frontline is a 64 man tug of war about capturing territory. Horde puts you againts increasing difficulties of ai waves.
I hear the learning curve is pretty high in PvP so its really good that they included a PvE mode too.
You will die. Lots. The tutorial outlines things but only practice will show rewards. Also don't jump around different weapons off the hop. Pick one and practice for longer than you think.
Looks like Chivalry with better graphics and extra things to do. Which I'm more than okay with, I loved Chivalry.
After having gotten and played Mordhau, it's everything Chivalry was and more. It's a great game, and only $30. Get it.
