Any reccomendations? Only looking at $40 max (I could spend more but don't really want to). Also what is generally better USB headsets or 3.5mm jack?
1/4 inch is better, otherwise depends on what you want out of it, USB has more versatility but if you're just looking for good quality stereo headset you can pay less for better quality with a 3.5 jack. Though, the price point is somewhat less clear when you go for a headset with a microphone, most 3.5 versions are intended for mobile use and sacrifice quality for scale whereas the usb's cover both angles more frequently with both home and mobile PC usage. $40 should get you a pretty decent pair as long as you keep the wire, wireless becomes significantly more expensive with any level of quality. Unless you're going pure audiophile you should easily be able to find a quality pair of headphones under $40 that should last until you run over the cord
a touch outside the $40 budget but i'm rocking some hyper-x and they're fantastic. super comfy, great sound, solid build quality https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-KHX-H3CL-WR/dp/B00JJNQG98

yeah that first one, fucking Sennheiser, I just don't know if their name stands up as tall when you're not dropping a couple benji's. Guess there's only one or two ways to find out
I'd rather spend that type of money on a sennheiser then a beats or Bose. Yeah 300 dollar beats that are actually more like 35 dollars because they are made in China. Also They are on Amazon for 169 and in white. https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-GAME-ONE-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00GWU8FTK Hnnggg
Same here but the charging gets annoying and they tend to be a bit heavier, trade offs for everything.
I typically go for the full sized headsets anyway, so weight is about the same, mostly just battery, which can be mitigated with good balance.
