New beginnings. A friend of mine (Tenshi on our EU DayZ server) has done some homework and fired up a DayZ server out of his home (Seattle, WA on a 1Mb up fiber connection). He'd like any of us interested to jump on over the next few days to see how the server and his connection hold up. Friendly Fire is on. Banditry is not discouraged. Play how you will, but keep the BS and rage to a minimum. Server restarts will be 24hrs frequent (if all holds up well) and spawns are fruitful. For now, this is a stress-test so gear and progress may not be permanent. It all depends on how the hardware holds up. He has faith that it will. Filter for server: FDI PW: ForTheSwarm
Feel free to message me with any problems, bugs, or anything you think might improve the DayZ experience (even if just to raid part of the map together). If all goes well I won't reset the server. At the moment I also set it so that when the server restarts it resets the time to 10 PM. This is intentional.
Poked around a little bit, just a few questions. 1) I was on last night around the time the server reset (or at least when I thought it reset) and my vehicle disappeared. 2) Is it just me or have the item spawn rates been tinkered with? Not complaining, just wondering because it's seemed like many of the spawn locations have had fairly sparse loot. (ie. 3 super market raids and ~6-8 cans of food between them?)
1.) What vehicle was it? My computer crashed recently while the server was up, that might of made some changes not save. I'll send it to you if I can figure out how to identify it, because that was on my bad. 2.) They weren't altered, but because the server is low traffic and I reset frequently the spawns act like freshly entered areas. If you approach the supermarkets with a vehicle, and get out and approach them it won't spawn much usually from that (including sometimes being empty) kind of an approach. There's a specific distance that begins to trigger spawns, remaining out there for a length of time is what provides more spawns being occupied with random loot. Everything's defaulted, and I've had some groceries do what you describe, and others spawn three alice packs =| That being said I noticed a new version of DayZ has come out. I'm considering upgrading to the full version of DayZ bliss, I've been using Pwnz0rz all in one for this trial. Bliss is already ready for this patch, and has more customizations. If I did that though, the database would be wiped and we'd be starting over again. I think it'd be worth it too since it'd add "care packages" and other wrecked vehicles to loot.
