Let me set the stage. Here I am all excited. I find myself diving headlong into a previously unknown universe of history and action and loving it, all because I followed a link that contained a link that contained another link (which led me to the mwonline website and forums). I dig into the different factions and groups trying to figure out where I would fit in. Yea, its still pre-beta, but now I'm loving what I'm reading about the premise for the game and the background behind it all. I found out that I was very mistaken when I assumed that any talk about the story behind it all was just a loose history to base the game off of. Instead, there is a rich history and so much reading material it makes my head spin, but that's a good thing. I stumble upon a group that are more or less space vikings that threw off an oppressive government and made their own. What do you know, there's even a budding community for people planning to fight for said group. I visit their forums and it seems like they have a small but friendly community that is growing. I'm definitely signing up with them TL;DR 1: Hey, I found this place and joined. When I joined up I found myself trying to jump in and get to know everyone, and even downloading this online tabletop client for the game. I figure I'll watch and see how it all works and then throw myself in and see if I can avoid total embarrassment. Before that happens though I notice my comp is running hotter than usual, in fact, quite hot. That's no good. Wait, its awful quiet isn't it. I should be hearing fans right now. Why am I not hearing fans? Greeeeeeeeeeat, my fans look like they're dead and my comp. is overheating. Yup, they're gone. Well can't let the thing burn up. Fantastic. Not a difficult fix, but now I have to go pick up some new ones and with my schedule that isn't going to happen as quickly as I would like it. Oh well, looks like that can't be avoided. I'll just have to wait a few days to try to figure out that obscene program. In the mean time I suppose I can steal my wife's laptop to lament on the forums...even if it is a wretched mac. TL;DR 2: My fans are dead on my computer and I'm going to be too busy to pick some new ones up for a little bit. In any case I'll probably keep up with the forums, but it's likely I'll be off of TS and steam for a few days.

That's alright man. It's better that you're off for a few days instead of burning your entire computer out just to chat with us. While that level of dedication would be awesome, it's really not practical. I'm sorry you have to deal with a mac though. We all feel your pain there.
That does indeed suck but like Steel said, better a little pain now than a burned up comp when the game is released.

An update: Oh, it gets worse. So I had some free time and decided to sit down with my baby. Ran a diagnostic and it also turns out my hard drive is in the process of failing. She'll keep on going for awhile, not showing signs of failure in the performance yet...but its only a matter of time My paycheck will be unhappy with me.
I'm probably going to rip her out within a week or two. Even if shes not failing yet I may as well head it off sooner than later.
An update: my harddrive died I have my important pictures and doc.s on my external, but I lost my registry. Thus, I will have the great joy of reinstalling my extensive game library. My bandwidth will weep. That's the shitty part. The relatively good news is that when everything is said and done I'll still be under the $200 mark to repair what I need to. Now its just to put it all back into place. I should be back on a real computer, in TS, and hopefully gaming again within the week. Bar any unforseen complications ....there better not be any unforfuckingseen complications
My new hard drive finally came in today. Now, I can install it and start going to work on getting my programs back. Perfect timing too, I just finished my midterms. I should be able to be playing real games starting potentially as soon as tommorrow. Also, you better believe that I'll be in TS later tonight narrating my progress. Look forward to that.
I could tell it had been too long when the package showed up today at my door. My heart skipped a beat, my eyes got wide, and the words that came out of my mouth as I was signing for it were literally, "Oh sweet tap dancing Buddha it's here!"
False. You -will- hear from me. My wife and I just had company over tonight. She made a friend earlier this week and we had them over. I'm usually not a people person, but they were a pretty fun couple. Thus, even as important as my baby is to me, I had to delay my work. It has now begun. In fact, even as we "speak" I am using my baby.
