There is a new space survival game comming out tomorrow I plan on giving a try. In case anyone feels like joining me here is the store page. Otherwise I will have my broadcast settings open on steam so feel free to watch. There are some active twitch streams at the moment too. http://store.steampowered.com/app/402710
I will probably get it just because it's not exactly the same as space engineers. this seems a little less sandbox and more about the exploring than the building. Would play both.
I bought it and it looks great, but it's still very buggy. I recommend waiting for stability patches. It feels a lot like Space Engineers except there is no block building component. Instead, building is limited to "modular" construction; each building has specific upgrades and attachment points. You lose a lot of the creativity SE offers, but I hope this will translate to a faster development cycle and a "finished" game. By comparisons, SE's scope has always been much more ambitious. I still have hope that SE will reach a "finished" state as the devs seem to be focused on bug fixing and quality of life improvements, but there is no denying the fact it has been a tremendous undertaking to get there.
I know... it's rediculous. As much as I love having planets, I have to admit that (in hindsight) it would have been better to get MP stable first. Then they could have released a "finished" product. THEN they could have given us planets (I would have gladly paid for it as DLC). Oh well. I take comfort in the fact they are updating the dev version every week. But, back on topic...
Saw this - like Mags, I'm totes on board once end of the month hits (and a few patches are out). From what I saw, it's basically ARK in Space with that sense of fear and wonder and urgency brought on by "The Martian". I looks like it has fantastic potential!
I'll pick this up in the next few months, but I'm waiting at this point to see what direction they go with updates.
Well it didn't break the bank (indeed, nice price and all). Fun little game - though I suspect multiplayer is a must for fun times.
bought it since it was on sale and it is actually pretty interesting. I haven't played much but I don't think it would overlap with space engineers much. This seems more small scale/personal survival and less about building a ship.
