Ok guys, it's time to begin thinking of character creation and what you want to play. Sometime within the next week or two get with me to do stats and any special request outside of the pathfinder standard (ie homebrew, nonstandard race request). Secondly I would like to get a sense of people's availability for Sunday game, so please post your times! I also would like to know if everyone playing has tabletop simulator, no worries if not we will just use roll20 In the next few weeks I will be creating a world for use to explore, npcs, etc in preparation. Love you guys and look forward to trying my hand at GMing Pathfinder, keep in mind my GMing experience is limited but I have loads of hours as a player, 16ish years to be fair hehe. We will be all starting at lvl 1 for this game, experience will be accumulated as a group so we won't have a party of different levels. I'm looking for doing around a 4 hr session - longer sessions I could do as well but I'm not sure how long other players will be willing to play. There is a rule I will have as a GM for all players to follow that is just proper tabletop etiquette: Rules and Game-mechanics are to be debated before or after the session, not during. Arguing rules slows down the game *nods*, pointing out something that was missed or overlooked is fine, just not when it gets to the point it is being argued and debated.
At this point, all-day Sunday is good for me. However, not all Sundays will be available because sometimes I like to hang out the local game store from time to time. So I would like advance notice on sessions we run. Also, I do have Tabletop Simulator.
I will consider playing depending on when you choose to play at, when I can. Just gotta know when so I can schedule.
I do have a few restrictions, rolling your ability scores I want you to roll 4d6 re-rolling ones and twos and keep the highest three and do that seven times, choose six of those rolls for your attributes. As far as races and classes, any published paizo book will work - no home-brew. I'd have to see any home-brew stuff in advance before I say yay or nay ^.^. I will allow half-breeds within reason, my rule for a half-breed is that one half must be a base player race. (half and half of base player races you don't need to speak to me in advance)
I dug up my fire sorc Siona's original sheet and got it to alexia, picture as well. im pretty close to good to go.
I'll make something during the week. I usually play casters of some variety, so it will probably be along those lines.
I need to find you and learn more about the setting at some point. But I am leaning towards a Dex-based Magus (i.e. Kensai), because Squishy Mage Party Go Go Go!!! I may also be convinced to be a Cavalier, though... i.e. Drake Rider
Traditionally I play tank for the party, but I'm sick of that for now. I think I'll take a ninja I think for roguish sneaking and spying and such, but I'm still going over class options. Edit: Looking at the shifter class because it gives me many options for play.
How would y'all feel about having a first timer? Been really interested in joining a new DnD or Pathfinder group... and here you all are! Would be interested in trying it out if the time ends up working.
Would a Slayer class be acceptable? https://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/hybrid-classes/slayer/ I’m already really enjoying building a character. Do groups typically build collaboratively at all? Thinking “hey guys, should I buff up my healer skill?” “No man, I’ve got healing covered” etc. Or is it more build your character however you would and enjoy the fun of getting thrown in with a ramshackle crew of characters for an adventure.
It can be either. We're usually a bit more random though. There are ways to compensate for weaknesses in the party.
if and when we hit around level, i dunno, 7 or 8ish the current make up of the group is going to be squishy as fuck. i think we have a sorc, a summoner, kensai, and ninja. I mean Im not gonna tell anyone how to play, we can work around any group, something that can take more than 1 hit at lvl 1 would be nice.
I;m making a shifter for level one instead of brushing off my ninja. A shifter is essentially a feral spec druid from warcraft with a decent AC and hitpoints so she can do the tanking as well as melee.
