So I saw this recommendation on a youtube channel I follow and I must say it looks rather tempting. It's still in early access but it looks promising. http://www.perpetuum-online.com/ Video below gives you a better run down of what the game is like then I could.
Not sure if I should try it or not. I also saw the video. It looks cool but from the video all I hear is "mining" and even though eve has mining it isnt the focus. But this game I think mining may be much more core to the gameplay. Mining in a game sucks.
Show the actual game, not some bearded-weirdo waving his arms in front of a bookshelf. This is why I never watch youtube. I never get to see any games. All I get is bearded weirdos who wave their hands and talk like this: "Uhuh. Hehe. Hi all. *snorts* Sooooo.... Today we're going to LIKE play... a game. *snort* *fart* HUEHUE. So, I've almost finished installiinnnnggggggggggg..... ...this game. THERE. LOL. *armpit fart* HUEHUE! So I can like pick these things... whaddit say?... Like these dudes here. I'ma gonna take this bad boy here HUEHUE. LOL." More actual games, less people talking about games! This modern world is driving me fucking nuts. If I could see the actual mechs blasting each other and if this game is about that sort of thing, I'd appreciate it and potentially be very interested.
I played this game for a while, way back. Got expensive fast, so I quit. EDIT: Oh, it's a one off payment now. I might pick it back up.
yeah... he's not very good at talking. That guy usually does the writing for Extra Credits/is a game developer. There's gameplay footage later in the video though. I'm not really advocating the game per se, I'm probably not gonna play it, but I thought some of you guys might be interested in it.
Not my cup of tea. Mechs essentially stand still for minutes, literally stand still and fire at each other without anything happening. And no, I don't have experience from EVE.
I don't think you just set up your shop next to two enemy fortresses in 18th century or before. I don't think those tactics were ever used, to be fair towards generations that came before us. There is no historical analogue to this.
