So we have awards for mastering each weight class, how about one for mastering all of the new mechs in the phoenix package?

If you're going to do that why not have one for the Founders mechs?

Personally, I'd rather have a "Useless Mech Master" ribbon (Spider 5V, Stalker 4N, etc). :p

The only way to get it would be to spend money, same reason we don't have any awards for having lots of mechs, any award should be available to any member regardless of how much money they have dumped into a game.

Not quite, all the mechs will be available at some point for CBills just not with the (P) added on. But still I don't see creating an award for that single subset.

True but not until next year if I remember the release schedule correctly.

However... that useless 'mech ribbon might warrant some consideration...

you don't' have to spend money. all of these chassis will be available for c-bills. so it won't be something everybody could get until next year. we have a 2 year membership award as well, and that was created well before the 2 year mark was available for anybody, as well as a clan invasion award. it's something you can look forward to achieving and work towards it as the mechs become available. a class mastery is 4 chassis and the phoenix package is 4 chassis, hell you could include the saber reinforcements as well and make all 6 chassis required for the award. there are as many mechs in the phoenix as there were in the various weight classes when these awards were created. To say it's not worth it because it is only a single subset is kinda silly as it is the same size as the the subsets required for the existing awards.

But it's also a certain set of 'mechs, where as the current set of class masteries is any ones you want. Some people just aren't going to want Locusts, or SH's, or Battlemasters. You just want more ribbons :suspicion:

So for the useless mech award do we include the entire locus line? :disturbed:

I was thinking more along the lines of mechs that are objectively the worst of their chassis/class. The Spider 5V and Stalker 4N are probably the best examples, but I'm sure we could agree on a few more to add to the list.

Of course i do. That's kind of the idea of awards. It's why xbox has 12 billion achievements you can earn, and most of them don't have anything to do with winning. They are simply a reason to keep playing and exploring different options within the game. This one is much like the Jack of All Trades award. It gives you a reason to play some dramatically different mechs and different play styles that you might otherwise have ignored. You could even have the Phoenix Mastery supersede the Jack of All Trades (as it would require mastering one of each class as well). Or you could make it a second level of Jack of All Trades. Call it the JoAT w/ Phoenix Cluster or something along those lines. The fact that not everybody wants to pilot them is immaterial. It's not a requirement to get every reward. Not everybody wants to pilot light mechs but we still have an award for it. That isn't a reason not to award those people that are willing to experiment and get better. Make it master 4 of the 6 (phoenix + saber) to give somebody a choice if you want. So far all of the negatives that have been brought up apply equally to all of the awards we already have.

Well, whether my vote counts or not, I'm with Mellow. It's not a P2W type of reward, just a P2Get it early. Personally, digital pixels or not, it'd make all the work I've put into grinding (not all, a couple) these things a bit more bearable (Looking at the Thud Super Sport and the 3M LCT-Tape Dispenser).

Okay, I do see you point. But what makes the Phoenix 'mechs special enough to warrant a special ribbon just for them, besides the option for some to get them earlier than others? When it boils right down to it, their just another set of 'mechs from Light to Assault chassis, no different than the Founders 'mechs. Should we make a ribbon for every cluster of four classes that were released at the same time?
