We finally got the gameplay trailer and its 8min long.

Release is scheduled for Q4 2020 but you can get access to the alpha and beta before hand.

My thoughts on the trailer, release date and the preorders.

My inital thoughts on the trailer was that of excitement but as the day have passed it's turned more into dissapointment. What is there looks good but there is nothing new about it, It's all stuff we knew about beforehand, now we just get to see it in motion. It still looks great and im still very excited about the game. I had just hoped for more.

The release date is a real disappointment and is far off from what was initially talked about. Now things will always change during development but this have been abit ridicilous. They were originally talking about releasing the trailer in June 2018 and then the game would follow a few months later. We now finally got the trailer and a projected release in Q4 2020 which could likely be delayed. Beta is estimated for June 2020, while Alpha will available in August 2019.

There are currently 2 options for preorders. Standard and Supporter. In the standard pack you get the full game and beta access for $39.99. The price is actually good but you have to wait more then a year before you get access to the beta and almost 2 years for the whole game.

Now, the Supporter pack is awful. You get the full game, beta and alpha access. the FBI HRT pack, 25% discount on the first expansion and the first 1000 preorders get an official ready or not mouse pad. All for a whooping $119.99. It's silly. You should atleast get the entire first expansion or a season pass, not a 25% discount. The FBI HRT pack is just a skin pack so it does not validate the price. I also don't see the mouse pad being worth enough to validate such a price, that still requires you to be one of the first 1000 to get that pack.

At first their ideas sounded very good about what plans they had for future DLCs after release but this is just sad.

That mouse pad better give me headshots every time I pull the trigger to justify that price, hard for it to top my Drake one...

I was talking with Varg about it last night and we both agree, that while exciting, it is a long wait and as he said you could pre-order a couple of other games for the amount saved getting just the base one.

I understand that the idea behind it is for those who want to support the game abit more, its not meant to be a good deal. I think that is fine if they had like a $60 version that gave you alpha access and the FBI HRT pack.

    We have some news.

We will start of with mentioning that the game had a big update a couple of days ago and most of the NDA was lifted with it but before we get into that something else needs to be mentioned first.

Ready or Not is planned for Steam early access before the end of the year.

This is a bit of a strange one though, as it's not really by the developers choice. I bought the supporter edition and got access to the alpha, For the alpha, we got Steam keys. The developer can no longer generate any more steam keys unless they go live on steam early access. Since they are dependent on it they will have to go live without being quite ready for it.

I have had access to the alpha since supporters first got their hands on it. Here is some quick history of the alpha. Initially when it first arrived we had access to some single player/coop modes, it was promising and pointing in the right direction but it was clunky, placeholder... well, early alpha. There were then removed to work on them for a while and only PVP was available. I didn't play any of that so no idea how it was. That was what we had until recently when we got the coop update and it is good.

The game is still in alpha and it's noticeable with bugs and things needing some fine tuning but overall it's good. Most of the core mechanics are in place and working as intended.

The gameplay is good and it is what i'm expecting it to be. It's a tactical FPS game about SWAT and similar teams. The game is meant to be a spiritual successor to the SWAT games and if you have played SWAT 3 or SWAT 4, you will quickly feel at home.

With most of the NDA dropped there is now some actual ingame footage to show which will tell far more then anything i can write.

I can't really place my thumb on why, but the movement in this game bothers me. It just doesn't look natural.
