Anyone have experience with the Cyborg R.A.T. series of mice? Specifically the R.A.T. 9 Wireless? Looks like a lot of good reviews. I'm planning on replacing my Logitech mx518 (Still a good mouse just a bit beat up), and was wanting to go wireless. Looks like the best wireless gaming mice are the G700 Logitech and the R.A.T. 9 from Saitek...the RAT 9 looks AWESOME and I really want to go with it, but any comments?
I've got the RAT 5 and like it a lot. Good adjustability, button placement is good for me and I like the "Sniper" DPS dropper on the side.
I cannot comment on the particular mice you have asked about; however, I have a wireless gaming mouse. What I can say is that I use it with the wire attached 100% of the time now. I personally would not buy another one, because like I said i keep the wire attached all the time.
I have had The Saítek Cyborg R.A.T 5 for a very long time now and i love it. The R.A.T 9 is a better version of it. I dont know so much about the wireless tough. For some reason i have a memory of me recommending it to you or was it someone else?
That's kinda my debate: Do I go RAT9 (wireless) which gives me some freedom of movement or do I go RAT 7 which is wired...I've got the option for both. The RAT9 has got some really good reviews, the RAT7 also seems to be well liked, though one reviewer had a problem with it's sensor...which he noted seemed to be fixed in the 9 series. *shrug* I know I want one of the two of them, I just don't know which. If the RAT9 did the detachable charging chord thing, it would be a no brainer...but it doesn't, it's battery packs that are hot swappable. They give you 2 battery packs, so you've always got a spare charged and ready (charge time seems to be in the 30 minute - 1 hour timeframe) and the battery is supposed to be giving about 10 hours or so of direct usage...all would seem ok on the surface there... --Illydth
Swapping batteries and plugging in a cord when the pack needs recharged, is way more maintenance than I want for a mouse imo.
I run the R.A.T. 7 MMO variant, and I think it's fantastic. There's no way I'd use a wireless mouse for gaming on a desktop, for reasons Skwis has already mentioned. *EDIT* Wow, somewhat of a necro, I thought there was a new response to this thread, but guess not...
