So...was thinking today how awesome it would be to go kayaking regularly. I work at a lake, so I could literally go to work then pull a kayak out and recreate for the rest of the day. Always loved kayaking but never had the money or really the access. ...then I went looking at prices. $600 bucks for a decent kayak? JUST the kayak? Frick, I could buy 2 SC Connies for that! So adding it all up, I figure all the gear and the kayak would cost easily over $1,000. I could get a freelancer for a tenth of that, or a Connie for a quarter....but it's a freaking kayak... thoughts?
With no LTI now I'd hold off and just get one in game unless you just really want to support the game. Besides I know I'm probably not going to be flying my constellation too much compared to my caterpillar and cutlass doing salvage missions, from what I can gather we should be able to rent ships out to other people so I know mine will be up for others to use.
Rent a Wreck...er, Ret, cheap at any price! I dunno enough about the equipment to say much, but $1000 seems a bit steep, what more do you need besides the boat oars and beer? >.>
So, I read the title and was about to jump in and tell you that a ship usually has three masts and boats have fewer... then I actually read the post. Voted Kayak - reason being that, as I have recently discovered, outside is good for you. Especially if you play games as much as we do..
So I go kayaking, sometimes, in the Chesapeake Bay. I got my kayak off Craigslist for $300 and it included the paddle. That would be my suggestion, look at Craigslist before going out to buy one in a store.
X2. I don't buy anything like that new. There are always people out there who buy outdoorsy stuff thinking they will get off the couch and use it, but end up playing video games instead. Same thing goes for exercise equipment
If you work at a lake, I question why you don't already have a kayak, or something of the like? I think you need one, and some really cool boat shoes that allow you walk on water. http://image.made-in-china.com/43f3...e-Walker-Shoes-for-Human-Walking-on-Water.jpg
Wait...you go in the Chesapeake? Where the hell do you live? You're right next door to me aren't you?
That's funny, you can tell I'm from the west. The whole time I thought they were talking about some mythical location called "Cheesecake Bay" because that is how I was reading it at a glance and I really wanted to know how to get there.
and... for some reason when I typed in 'mmm cheesecake' I discovered a picture of some guy holding a slice of cheesecake over a woman's kitty... the shaved kind, and definitely nsfw so I won't post it here XD
