So... where to from here?

If we do another round of Exhibition/Simulator Drops, it will likely be this Friday and Saturday. Also, even if we take the second option, I would not expect a very large delay for the next contract. I would like to start the next campaign no later than the weekend after this one.

 

I'd not mind doing another set of sim drops... mostly because I didn't really get to do that last one. Only thing is, I can't do Sat, it'd have to be late Sat or Sunday after the commander's meet.

 

But you guys aren't actually dead..... It was all a dream.

Have a simple mission lined up for us. I figured another short one would do us some good since some of you are just trying to save up some cash for more upgrades. The contract will be near Kobe somewhere along the Lyran border. One big difference is that it will actually be IN FRR space. Details to follow, but the general idea is that the Tamar Union debacle is spilling over into other areas and the FRR needs us to put out some fires. The contract will not be a garrison/defense mission. Most likely this will be in the form of "Relief Duty" work. More details to follow later, but suffice to say that the campaign will focus on "surgical strikes" as opposed to the defensive campaigns we have been used to in the past.

I'm still sorting out some of the details and welcome any serious input if anyone is willing.

List of things decided:
-contract will be somewhere along the Lyran/FRR border
-enemy composition; enemy will be a "poorly equipped" minor faction (keeping details a secret for now).

List of things to do:
-determine planet for contract
-determine planetary conditions (if none can be found)
-length of contract (ideally, i want to give all lances at least two opportunities to drop... so roughly 8 missions)
-??? anything else I forgot?

Details of contract including payout can only be determind after the above has been sorted out. Also, the latest savefile (Nov3048.cpnx) on Dropbox is indeed up to date.

 

needs to be a planet poorly defended. the idea of the contract is that the enemy force is a serious enough threat to respond, but it is still cheaper for FRR to hire us than send one of their regular units.
