    Random Protip: if you log out in a bed (in our Living Quarters), it will save your character location and anything in your inventory when you log back in.

    Server deleted our HQ for some reason I'm not sure overnight. I am out of t0wn and can't deal with it atm, but I will fix/replace everything when i get back. Going to freeze the server until I get back to save what we have. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it will get fixed! STay tuned.

    I did notice something similar when you had it running a few months ago. I did start building a base but if I got on the next day or a few days later it was gone. I figured it was AI coming along and blowing it up or a faction/ownership setting. But maybe not.

    (Bases I built only ever had the basics. Wind turbine, basic assembler/refinery, and a survival kit. Yes it was a few times). So it could be some odd setting. Because once ok maybe an enemy AI. Two or three times. Probably something else going on.

    Was it just the base that got deleted or all the vehicles too? Because then I wonder if it has to do with station grids if the vehicles are still there.

    Trash/clean up setting is wonky?

    Yeah, something weird with the trash removal settings. I have a vague idea of what happened, but i won't be able to tackle it until i return from visiting my folks. I hope to have an answer by this weekend

    Doing some "black magic" on the server today to see if I can't isolate the problem today. Hoping to have the server working properly by tomorrow. Will let you know here when I have an update.

    I checked this morning to see if everything was still there after last night. As far as I can tell, I've fixed the problem. Server should be ready for regular use now.

    About half a dozen of us took part in a siege today. Here are some screenshots of the highlights:

    We got attacked by another corvette that did considerable damage, but we fended it off. We were able to confirm that the biggest threat to the base is when large enemy ships bellyflop onto our shields. Buffing our shields more will fix the immediate problem, but will make our power requirements much higher and our sources for uranium are limited. Until we find a better solution, our best recourse is more guns... preferably spread out around the base (a "defense-in-depth" strategy). We are still evaluating our options.

    We also managed to destroy one of the nearby pirate bases that has been continually harassing us with drone strikes. One still remains, though.

    You can expect more planned activities next Saturday. Hope to see you there.

    I've set up an automated factory for us using this mod:

    Building new vehicles will now be a breeze for you. All you need to do is plug in and position a blueprint on the production rigs (I've added a second one). The nanites will handle the rest. Set it and forget it! :toast:

    Server is running again. I've doubled the number of backup saves and increased the time until removal of player owned grids up to a month (for inactive players). Should better protect us from any catastrophic damage to the server.

    So... I was bored and thought I would test my mettle in one of our shielded fighters against the first random hostile large ship I could find... pretty much everything I've told you guys not to do alone. :glee:

    The first target I found happened to be an IMDC Atlas class frigate (much bigger than the corvette we've seen). I got a couple of good strafing passes in before a stray missile shot half a wing off. Having second thoughts about this endeavor, I turned away to limp back to base on what fuel and thrusters I still had. I managed to pull off a soft crash landing a few dozen meters from the base and was surveying the damage to the fighter when I noticed that the frigate was approaching my location at high speed! Apparently it had taken offense to the minor damage I had dealt it. To say the least... there was a firefight...

    Limping home (unknowingly with the frigate in hot pursuit):

    I like the minimum grid grid size part (if I'm reading it right). I tried another one and it got annoying when ships got blasted apart and there would be 20 lead indicators.
