When I was going through leveling my first specialization it seemed surprisingly difficult for me to find info on how you leveled a specialization effectively. I will spare you that pain and share what I have learned. Specializations, once unlocked, use a point system to level. Different skills in the tree cost differing amounts of specialization points, ranging from 3 to 10. In order to gain specialization points you can do the following: 5 Points: Completing select invaded missions as you are going through the WT levels 3 Points: Each time you level after you hit 30 and unlock specializations 5 Points: Complete the daily VIP Challenge mission (exclusive to gold and ultimate editions- purchase of the year 1 pass may open these up to you- not sure) 3 Points: Complete the daily Challenging Tier mission 1 Point: Complete the daily Hard Tier mission 1 Point: Capturing a Level 4 Control point (limited to WT4) Varied: Completing bounties will frequently offer specialization points (ranging from 1-10 depending on the difficulty of the bounty), but you can select a bounty before activating it to see if they do. The weekly "Priority Network" targets all seem to, while the daily rotating bounties do not seem to As I was going through it, I have found doing a Challenging daily mission or two, plus the Priority Network targets, has been a great way to supplement the points you get through leveling. Level 4 control points are a bitch solo; I generally did not find them to be incredibly efficient for this specific purpose.
Hm, so the Year One pass does give you an extra Challenging daily, and it has even higher Spec points
I think there's more to it; I have to look into it. I believe that a challenging stronghold daily gives you 5 points regardless of whether or not it's your VIP mission or the Daily. In other words, I think the VIP daily is just an extra challenging mission- could be a mission or stronghold. Missions would give 3 and strongholds 5 if that is the case.
