So, does anyone else play this besides me? It's a fun game, I just don't play often because I have no one to play with http://store.steampowered.com/app/99900/
Tried it right it after it came and was not impressed, but that was a long time ago, so it might be better by now.
for a second I confused this with Rocket Knight, for the Sega Genesis http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_Knight_Adventures not sure if this game looks better lol
yes, but it is also almost as old as mechwarrior and unlikely to see reinvigoration as a franchise, in spite of how good it was in it's hayday, to be outshined by a thirty year old game is a mark against
A lot of the old school 16 bit platformers are still a blast to play now. They don't need complicated visuals or anything to be great, and the lack of patching ability meant publishers had to get it right the first time or watch their game sink. And please don't think I'm just looking at this through nostalgia-mode. I only played Rocket Knight adventures for the first time a couple of years ago. If the game is good, its age doesn't matter. Spiral Knights on the other hand, struck me as boring, repetitive, and devoid of anything to make it stand out over the dozens of other top down hack and slash games. I'd rather go play torchlight or something. The only real value Spiral Knights has is that its free, and there STILL better games in that category.
To each his own. For me it was really the theme/atmosphere that drew me into the game, if that makes sense? They've added a lot of new stuff, and though the game-play can be a little repetitive, it's fun.
