I swear there was already a thread for this, but it's slated for release on march 31 2022. Also the same studio is makeing a stargate SG-1 game. only $29.99. Is a strategy game.
Wtf. We went into discussions for the Starship Troopers IP with the foundation that owned it in ~2012 and they said "we want that the developer that makes a game on it will emphatize pacifistic positive message of space exploration". I thought the IP was dead at that point. So glad to see an actual game made out of it that didn't end up being a woke pony ride into the galaxy.
So they went with the Hollywood version and not the book version. Because the book version would have been so much more fun - commanding small unit raids with power armor, superior mobility and firepower and quick tactical decisions.
probably because the holleywood version is more known/has a cult following while the books probably are not outside the military (if the book is still recommended reading for the military academies). I'm fine with either way they went . I actually prefer the anime show and movies to the holleywood and I think the animated is more closely styled on how things would be if they were more based on the book and not a satire like holleywood. It kind of reminds me of Ground Control style play.
