Literally all you need for TTS is TTS. If I understand correctly, only hosts of games need to download the individual mods. People who join a lobby should have everything automatically load in.

Some of the mods I will be using are in the link in my last post, but like I said, I don't think they are necessary for everyone to subscribe to. Could be wrong, though. Will try to test that today.

I will not be able to make this unfortunately. Still having trouble with mice, and I'm not even gonna try my Rift headset with this shoulder

Here are the games i'm interested in. I do own some of the official DLC, some good news about them is that only the host needs to actually own them.

I have downloaded most of the games we have on the list Magnus put up.

    Official DLC:
    Mistfall
    In the Name of Odin
    Scythe
    Three Kingdoms Redux
    Superfight
    Warfighter

    Workshop:

    Sorta knows the rules:
Legend of the Five Rings: the card game

    Started learning:
    Fire Emblem Cipher

    Planning to learn:
    Battle for Rokugan
    Star Wars Armada
    Star Wars Legion
    Valkyria Chronicles

That's quite a lot. Any chance you can truncate that list down to one or two (just to start with)? I think the only two I recognize on that list are Scythe and SW Legion (and didn't know Valkyria Chronicles had a board game, but apparently everything does these days). I'm definitely interested in learning how Scythe plays. I don't know enough about any of the others to have any opinion.

Valkyria Chronicle doesn't actually have a board game. This one is completely fan made but it looks fun which is what matters.

Sure, I can narrow it down to a top three.

The Legend of the five Rings: the card game
    Valkyria Chronicles
    Star Wars Armada

    IMPORTANT UPDATE:

So in all my coming and going with various projects this week, I kind of forgot that I had signed up for an online continuing education seminar this weekend for nursing. Basically, both my Saturdays and Sundays are booked solid until the evenings for the next two weeks. The absolute earliest I can get online for TTS is 1930 (7:30pm EST). That means not only will it be impossible for me to organize a group at noon, but it also means I will be an hour and a half late for the evening meeting.

Besides Orc & Aspius (sorry guys, we will try to work with your schedules next time), is there anyone else who can't do 1930 on Sunday?

I can host a casually flexible session on Saturday if people show up wanting to play something. I will aim to get online at around 1pm CST (2pm EST) to allow myself to get lunch.

Thanks to everyone for joining us this Sunday! I'm glad everyone had a good time. TTS has a ton of content for us and we will definitely do more in the near future.

I was tired last night but I wanted to give a recap on how it went.

It was a very close fight, but in the end, White was too entrenched and proved to be more than Black could overcome. Congratulations to Orc on the victory!

    =============

    FINAL THOUGHTS

    =============

In summary, I was very pleased with how evenly matched all the decks were. It seemed every color (except Red which didn't have a chance to get played) had a moment to do some cool stuff. That was the most I could hope for and I'm glad that everyone had fun.

That being said, I openly recognize that the game went much longer than your average game of Magic. I want to thank everyone for your patience and I sincerely hope the length of that particular game will not discourage you from playing again in the future. I can say with complete confidence that once everyone understands the basics, the game goes a lot faster.

To analyze the match, a few things stood out for me. Granted, multiplayer games tend to run longer than 1v1, but I don't think that was the only reason. Possibly the biggest contributing factor was that we had two new players who needed to be taught the basics. Let me stress that there is no shame in that. It didn't help any at all that I grossly misjudged the difficulty of keeping track of counters for new players (especially with White). I want to apologize to JP for not giving him a deck that was a bit easier to manage. In the future, I will try to spend more time with any new players teaching them the basics in pickup games 1v1. I agree with the others in that is a better format to teach new players. That way they will at least have the basics down when it comes time for multiplayer games. I will also do what I can to reduce the number of counters people need to keep track of with these starter decks.

Combining those efforts, I expect we will have faster games in the future. Thank you all again! I look forward to our next game!

Lokking at that write up, Black may not have been a good fit for me before getting back into the swing of things. It never even occurred to me to kamikazi my own cards. I'm usually more careful with my resources than that.

BTW, that card you used was in my first draw hand.

Also, I would just like to point out that "Novice Knight"... a measly "1" cost creature played a huge part in Orc's win. That's just hilarious. And that's multiplayer Magic for you.

Yeah, black wants to be very aggressive with both sacrificing your own life total as well as creatures to do "cool things". I had a good chuckle after you left and I saw in your hand you had something to deal with Avacyn the whole time, but that's totally fine. Part of the fun is learning what style suits you, but also learning new strategies has it's own rewards. I also specifically love multiplayer Magic over 1v1 because it is extremely rare for a singular card to enter play and no one to have a counter for; it's just a matter of managing your "table politics".

Case in point, although probably the second-ish most experienced player that played last night, I was technically the first to "die" last night.:glee: And I'm totally fine with that!
