Yes I know this game is on the Epic game store and that is an immediate no for some people.

With that said, this is actually a pretty good game. Especially if you do not love the traditional competitive multiplayer games. It takes a little from a lot of things. It reminds me a The Division dark zone, Firefall thumping and skills, and yes a little battle royale in there as well. Also you buy weapons based on your credits. You craft weapons ahead of time with resources you get from the game, then buy them in game with the credits you earn during that game. They call it a Competitive Quest Shooter (PvEvP).

The premise of the game is you are a prospector trying to get resources off of a planet before the next "Cycle" of weather kills any humans still on the surface. You do this by completing contracts like gathering minerals, killing certain creatures, capturing certain nodes or repairing stations. All of this portion of the game is PvE. Along side this, there are 19 other players who are trying to do the same. You can steal resources from other players, but you can also form a "pact" with another player and become an ad hoc team. You can of course betray them by breaking the pact but much like Division 2 you get a notification if someone is breaking the pact. At the end of the game you have to clear a landing site and board a dropship to get off the planet before you die, again much like Division.

The interesting thing to me, is the winner of the match is not determined by how many people you kill, but how many contracts you complete. You do get credits for killing other players and you remove them as a competitor, but the primary scoring method is a PVE method, not PVP.
