Once for my friends birthday in high school, we couldn't think of anything so a bunch of us gave him cash. But we got it in dollar bills, then got a giant box filled with packing peanuts, and hid the dollar bills inside random packing peanuts inside a box with hundreds and hundreds of them. He had to individually check all the packing stuff... not sure if he ever found all of them.
Way back when in college we pranked our RA who left early for the holidays. We really liked him but he was always hassling us about the pranks we pulled on each other (OMG some of them were horrible, but funny) We got the key to his dorm room from the other floor RA. We went to the campus recycling building and loaded up our trucks with stacks and stacks of newspapers. We spent hours, and a couple bottles of rum, wadding up the newspaper and stuffing his room floor to ceiling. When we were done, you could *barely* open up the door. He was not happy, for the first few minutes. Then he laughed his head off and told us if we didn't clear it out he would turn the gas heaters off on our floor. We quickly responded and a great bonfire was to be had (outdoors, of course) /BW
