* I like having an objective that funnels gameplay in a specific direction. I dislike pure deathmatch because theres little cohesion to the battle and tactical movement is de-emphasized.
This video got me off the fence, anyway: My biggest initial turnoff was the fact that the game required me to have Origin installed. That by itself wasn't enough for me to dismiss it completely, though. However, this review has pointed out other bigger issues I have with the game. Specifically: laughably pointless "campaign" mode limited multiplayer game modes terrible matchmaking (no kick option? REALLY?) FUCKING TERRIBLE MATCHMAKING (no private lobbies) It's a real shame. The seemless infantry + mech action I thought was a step in the right direction. Maybe the sequel will address lingering issues. Also, Season Passes are still fucking bullshit. Never buy vaporware from big name publishers that are all too quick to screw you. (Colonial-fucking-Marines) To be fair, I still like it better than Battlefield and CoD, but yeah... I'm passing on this one for reasons above. Sorry guys
Well, you all will be happy to know I've joined your little cult and added you all to my Origin Friends. Give me somebody to play with before I shoot myself in this game.
i'm curious... does anyone here still play this game regularly? the whole product came off to me as "very pretty, but not much substance"
Probably not. I kinda noticed that while playing the beta so I didnt buy it. They kinda wasted a really good idea here, I think they could have done much more with it.
I agree. A real shame. Looks like we will have to wait a bit longer for another truly fleshed out mech combat campaign experience.
Im actually more talking about the wallrunning/mobility part on the footsoldier side. Combained with the Mech combat its a really cool experience. But the mech part of the game alone wasnt that amazing IMO. Its the combination that makes it. Problem is the game almost felt more like a MOD. It just was so bare bones. There could have been so much more interesting and unique gamemodes.
