Oh, and even though they don't have same composer Platinum said they are trying to keep music similar to MGR. Without vocals though. Yes. Please.
After seeing a gameplay video from E3, I have to be honest, I'm a little hesitant to go for this one. It looks like God of War with a Transformers re-skin. After watching the player knock a bad guy into the air, transform, Rev their tires (still in midair) before driving into said bad guy to knock them back down, I got a little worried. After the awesomeness that was War for Cybertron, I don't know if I can do the 80's silliness anymore. Of course, I don't generally care for beat em ups anyway, so maybe it's just me.
I liked both Cybertron games a lot too. I haven't been disappointed in Platinum yet so I'm quite optimistic and I don't mind the over-the-top beat 'em up gameplay. Platinum did solid work in both Bayonetta and Rising so it should be a ok here too. Matter of taste in the end, me thinks.
Sim and realism all the way here! So much so that I might have really hard time not declining a commission for an arcade game. The art and such looked fun but to me it feels like they're missing a chance to make a game about hyper advanced mechanized warfare if they go the silly & arcade route.
I've said before the perfect transformers game would be a mix of Planetside and War for Cybertron. Massive open world wsrfare with mixed infantry and vehicle objectives.
