You guys know of any easy and compact way to pack up a desktop with all the stuff with it, haul it in car to a place and setup?

Thinking along I've got a station wagon so there's some room to fit it all but it's a pain trying to grab all the things one by one and get them to car, get them to stay intact (not bump into each other etc) and then set them up in a meaningful time to an office elsewhere?

Essentially I'll be taking my rig with me showing people some VR products and I can't rely that their computers can 1) run it 2) have all the software installed 3) have all the necessary sockets etc. 4) and if any of that should fail they'll think the products suck.

assuming you can't get a laptop of course, I'd probably recommend getting a rollaway travel case, if you can find one, they're typically used for stage equipment, but you could just as easily find one to sit your desktop in and keep the important peripherals in. They're generally not cheap, but if you're fortunate you might find them at pawn shops and goodwill stores (assuming you have those). Ideally you'd find a rolling rack box, but those would be even more expensive and it might take more time to get them to you etc...

That looks like a good place to start. I also considered making a rack system from wood but then I feared what I'd look like in the eyes of some corporate people pushing a wooden rack with wheels in from their door... Especially if the plan is to sell that shit to them, rack included.

Guess there ain't no simple solutions.

Powerful laptop might do but.. can't really get one for showing off right now. They're so fucking expensive.

Found this. You can basically buy any cheap plastic box, then buy some foam and cut it so you can safely carry everything inside.
Perfect.. now I just need to find prices..

Something like this would be highly ideal, it can house everything in single package, including a serious tower unit, screens, controllers, oculus etc. but it costs 470€.

Then again, it makes everything easier and so. Showing how easy it is to transport the whole package is itself nice feature. Just wish they had something cheaper.

Nowhear near as elegant, but with 805 x 542 x 366, it can hold a lot, such as 500r Corsair with ease and even if I needed two it's still only 135€ a piece and possibly easier at stairs. So I guess it also depends on where it will be used.

judging by the look of it, that's a pelican case, absolutely -not- a cheap plastic box, they're actually one of the best sources for that kind of carrying case but they're by no means cheap. It may look like just any box stuffed with foam, but they're basically the gold standard in rugged transportation containers.
