Just a quick bit of information: We're looking at potentially streaming the final match of Trial by Fire live. If you happen to be reading this around 4:40p CST, we're probably an hour or so from the finals of Trial by Fire. If you'd like to watch the final match live streamed, (and we have the stuff setup to do so, there's some question about that), I'll post a link below if/when I have it. I'll reply to the thread if/when I get the live stream info. --Illydth
Is the location of this stream going to be widely available? One of the things that gets us killed in the IGP streams is the other team watching. Not saying they will, of course, but it's something to watch out for nonetheless.
Live streaming will be up for the semi-finals and finals at the following address: http://www.twitch.tv/baronsbroadcast
Yea, we don't have a delay this time out but there are judges on each match watching for issues with the live stream and such. We'll get it running better next time around, but for now, this has been fairly successful. There's a second feed for the otther team: http://www.twitch.tv/myuurin Finals will be running shortly.
So just to fill in a bit of info, there were 11 teams that showed up, double elimination. Several of them were PUG teams but a couple pre-mades also. BBK, LOS (2 Groups), House Marik and some others. The finals were Khan (PUG) vs. Marik, and it went down to a final game where Marik beat out Khan...after Khan took apart Marik in the first match. House Marik showed dominance through the entire thing, going 4-0 before losing to Khan in the first round of the finals (putting both Khan and Marik at about 3/1 or 4/1), and then pulling out the last game. Special props, however, go out to Khan. While we expected a pre-made to win, we NEVER expected a PUG team to take second place. I'm not sure who the drop leader for Khan was, but by all accounts the drop lead held the entire team together...while you have to give props to each individual on the team, again by all accounts, it was the leader who kept the group together and working well. All in all, I think a lot of fun was had by everyone. There were some good lessons learned form the Judgeing perspective that the judge team will take back for the next time this runs. The intent, according to the organizer, is to run this once a month when the Trial Mechs switch out, so hopefully this grows and we can get more teams and better organization next time. --Illydth
