I'm still rocking an old CRT TV and would like to get Netflix working on it. I already have a BlueRay player that is compatible for it. Problem is, it only has HDMI output and my TV only has coaxial/AV input. For $40 bucks, I can get this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I482L2K...olid=D14KLED00YQ1&coliid=I2R7V5ZXNW55D2&psc=1 The CRT is as good as new and even has a built in VHS/DVD. Do you think it is worth getting the converter? Money is not really the issue (to a point), I just hate having to buy a new TV if there is nothing wrong with my old one.
As long as you're not worried about HD picture I don't see why that wouldn't work. Converter's a whole lot cheaper than a TV.
Yeah. HD is cool, but i figure 720p (or whatever it is) is plenty fine for casual viewing in my bedroom.
you'll get better streaming rates if you turn the quality down from 1080 anyway, so if you have any net issues whatsoever it might be worth it simply for the halibut.
