    Hi guys,

My mouse has finally decided to give up the ghost (I lie, I lost my temper and there is now a dent in the opposite wall and the right mouse button has ceased function) and so I hopped on Amazon this morning and put in "Space mouse" hoping for a mouse with some sort of big-black-and-stars pattern on it.

    I uncovered this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Wirel...8&qid=1367048853&sr=8-13&keywords=space mouse

"A vertical mouse? Am I high?" I asked myself. "What is this fantastic beast?"

Has anyone ever used these and how do they tend to hold up vs. regular mice? I would like to try something different and it looks very novel, but I thought I'd see if anyone had any experience with these to collate some opinions. Bear in mind I would be using this for extended gaming sessions, 8-10 hours on the outside.

Any recommendations for other sub-£20 vertical mice on Amazon that you've used or look better than that are also appreciated!

    Thanks all!

Never used a vertical mouse. Got to say the 1200 DPI (and the fact that it's identified as "optical" instead of "laser") means you're not going to get the tracking you might be used to if you're used to a real gaming grade mouse.

If you're want to throw your mouse against the wall, you might consider something chorded.

When you click on a vertical mouse the force of the click is being directed along the x or y axis and will make the cursor more difficult to control. Click too hard, your mouse moves. When you click on a regular mouse, the force of the click is being directed along the z axis, and so, doesn't interfere with cursor position. Don't get a vertical mouse if you're a gamer.
