I mean, it's an interesting idea, what games might you want to see brought back to life in a VR environment? I thought about it for half a second and was like, fucking Space Harrier. Why? Because it's a perfect VR platform, the character never actually moves, the game is rail driven, your movement is vertical and lateral which is all done by jetpack so no need to actually move your feet. It's fast paced and can totally take advantage of the full 3d environment, and it doesn't really need ridiculous graphics. Though it could be even more amazing with improvements, of course! My thought, here's a video of someone who apparently built a VR version for PSVR, I don't think it's an official release but it's still pretty interesting, don't mind the idiot wipeout on the cow XD
The animations look awful but they're probably placeholder. The game itself is very simple and could easily work with procedural generation. The real tough part is actually getting some artwork. Unity has stuff like Gaia terrain creation systems and such for those with time. Sounds like a good hobby project and a nice intro into the world of game making. Makery makeing.
