    steam release

    there is a steam pack

seems a little unfair to people who were playing before steam. at least to those who already have some of the stuff in the pack. I have both parts already of the pacifica campaign and both fighters there. Maybe it's not unfair since its not saving much with the discount.

The release on steam is good. 41000 players online over 1200 battles while im writing this. So more players to kill :D

Ok, I want to try this but need to buy a new joystick first. Apparently Force Feedback (FF) joysticks died a while ago.....and no one noticed.

    Shame.

Anyhow, none of my current joysticks (Saitek Cyborg3D Gold) work with Windows 7.

    Any recommendations?

And more to the point who in here plays War Thunder (as opposed or including World of Warplanes, I guess) and what nights? How do you join up? Is there a lobbey, ETc etc.

I tried War Thunder with mouse. People say it actually designed with mouse in mind to bring in more players, but no f-ing way am I flying with a mouse.

MWO is still making me sad so I'm looking for something in the meantime.

    Could War Thunder be it?

x52pro is probably the best HOTAS value right now, I'd avoid the x65f but if you really want one I have one that they are refusing to RMA while one throttle axis is out and a sticking button simply because it was a gift to me. If money was no option then the I would go with the Thrustmaster warthog HOTAS, http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/products/hotas-warthog really great quality and dependability. The Siatek pro combat flight pedals are probably the best rudder pedals on the market but I've had to RMA mine twice now. I've gone back to a really old set of CH pedals that work fine every time no matter the abuse, just not nearly as fancy as the pro combat ones. For that matter I've been flying with my CH flight yoke since I mainly fly bombers and it has been very dependable for the last 8 years I've had it.

If you're doing joystick, I'd say avoid arcade. FRB is restricted to joystick only, but forces you into cockpit view with no targeting reticules or map, so its a bit tough. HB is where I'd stick to, although it allows for mouse flying.
