Has anyone heard anything about this game? I somehow got into the Beta, sounds like a fun idea. You vs the Zombies and other players. Plus it looks like you can host your own server so you can avoid the PVP gankers if you want too. I am a sucker for Zombie games so I'll have to try it out. http://thewarz.com/
Yea I heard of it, all I got was an email saying that I can pay now! if I want to get into beta... but no, I don't want to pay money just to get into beta right now until I hear more about it.
yeah same, sorta holding off. Watched a couple videos, seems like WoW with Zombies. One I watched was one of the Devs talking about how rare guns were and how much time it would take to find guns/gear/ammo. =\ Time will tell how fun it is I guess.
A few of us have dabbled in Day Z. It has a lot of issues currently (both bug wise and funability wise) so I'm not looking to get into it until I hear a lot more positive feedback about the meta game.
I've been playing in the beta a little bit. Pretty much what I expected PVP wise, people with good gear running around ganking everyone. LOL Pretty hard to kill zombies, sorta fun, sorta lame. Actually mostly lame, I'll wait till you can rent your own server and set the rules. =]
I got a "beta" invite to this. Basically inviting me to pre-pay for it. It looks interesting but I'm not paying to get into a beta.
Don't pay for beta, they are giving away lots of free keys through their facebook page. I do have a couple free keys that are only good for 48 hours starting on the 31st if you want to give it a try. ( yes, I say don't pay for it, from first hand experience of doing so. LOL >< I Should've used the $ on beer ) I think it helps to have the attitude when you play to just considering it Free for All Death Match, that you do not spawn with any gear, just to just see what you can find, and how long you can stay alive, till you get ganked. LOL It is more fun that way than thinking of it like your typical You vs Zombies game. Possessions are temporary. At least on Public servers. It is getting better, but I do not really play that much. I picked up a copy of Warfighter, so I doubt I'll be back in until it comes out of Beta now.
The War Z The War Z Has anyone seen this? May seem like a cheap DayZ clone, but i've been playing it for the past days and really liking it. From what i've seen they are extremely similiar, but WarZ could turn out to be a bit more streamlined and accessible (ARMA II's horrible inventory / general bugginess of zombies / the jumping problem) and has some cool features of it's own (weapon mods, character customization, rpg elements) It uses a pay once, play forever system with an ingame, micro-transaction model shop (not pay-to-win as far as i can tell). It's currently in alpha stage and will hit beta on wednesday, 31.10. price is 30$ on the cheapest package (includes beta access). Any thoughts?
For those who are playing this, what are the differences between War Z and Day Z? Does it fix the "Problems" of DayZ? Is it fun?
i added the facebook group and the last topics were from their lead dev complaining about too much pvp and how bad pvp was for a community. He asked what the community suggested to decrease the pvp and i suggested this qutoing him : Maybe you should rename your game to hellokittyonline or carebearheaven Other then that opinions are controversal. Some are saying its great some say its a waste of time .. I guess we have to wait for an open beta to find out
I watched some gameplay videos and it looked to be all to arcady and didn't at all have the same atmosphere that the arma engine provides. I might be wrong to, as unknown I'll have to wait until later to pass judgement.
I bought the pioneer pack for 30 bucks yesterday and played a bit and must say im positivly surprised. I still think dayz has more depth in gameplay but still its not bad Its pretty bandit infested and after several attempts of wandering the map to find loot and getting ganked by campers i found me a weapon and geared up after wipeing a 3 man team in a super market and gearing up from their loot If anyone is playing this lets team up
For some reason I bought the legends pack and I agree with Axe on this one. I prefer DayZ but even that has lost it's charms somewhat.
After getting ganked several times by campers i stopped playing alone for some time, but i'd be up for some team action
yeah its a gank fest i stopped after a guy flew over my head and one shotted me while inflight ... not saying he might be a hacker cause i got killed but id like an invisible jetpack too
Is beta over yet? I might check it out again. I haven't played since they started Open beta. I thought it was going to be more like an open world LFD, but it just ended up being counter strike on a server without hack protection with a few zombies stumbling around. LOL
