Hey fellow Borgs I have decided to start a thread on the upcoming Warmachine: Tactics by Whitemoon Dreams in cooperation with Privateer Press, who created the original boardgame. Introduction video: Teaser trailer: E3 trailer: This project was Kickstarted for 30 days in Summer 2013, and is now supported by allmost 20.000 backers. this project has so far been backed for over 1,5 million $. And now the closed beta has been released (downloading as I write), so I'm gonna try and post some running updates.
Ok, have started the game a couple of times.....not much activity atm. tho. messed around with the graphics settings (this game is heavy duty for my old PC), and I may have found a bug, but I'm not sure. When I messed with the "Depth of field quality" the middle setting (1) gave me a blurred picture. while setting 0 and 2 looked like this.
The kickstarter finished last year unfortunately, but check link below. I pledged at journeyman level (170$). Got 5 limited ed. miniatures for the boardgame last month. The link below should show rewards ans stuff. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/409030043/warmachine-tactics
I played one match as Cygnar and won. It needs voip. The game (just like the tabletop) is a little bit slow without talking to your opponent.
I downloaded yesterday, but no one was playing, so I mostly messed around with the menu and settings.
No way in hell U get my limited ed. Cryx Sturgis But Privateer press should be making normal editions of all miniatures (some of them are actually cooler than the limited ed.)
A buddy of mine was in closed beta. He's saying they were really paying attention to what their testers reported. Good sign.
That's probably to do with the depth of field focus being somewhere offscreen or not there, so the entire image becomes blurred. I wouldn't worry about it on the main menu, but try turning it back on and seeing if it creates any issues with the game (aside from the fact that depth of field is bloody stupid anyway, but to each their own). ^^ On-topic, this does look interesting. Will be keeping an eye on it.
