Hey Folks, just popping this into it's own thread, so it doesn't get lost in Derailed. Basically, if you have read and enjoyed Creepy Pasta at any point in time, meet it's outgrowth, The SCP Foundation. It's basically take all the objects, creatures, and monsters you could think of, and place them under a scientific classification, with a international shadow organization. What is SCP, you ask? It's many things, including but not limited to; Secure Containment Protocols, Special Containment Procedures, and Secure, Contain, Protect. The mandate of the Foundation is the protection of Humanity from supernatural, supranatural, or paranormal/multidimensional objects and beings that may destroy the world and all those on it. You've probably heard of or seen the game based on it, SCP Containment Breach I highly recommend it, if you like creepy, or scary stories. Some of my favorite SCP's of all time: SCP-076 "Able" SCP-093 Red Sea Object - Read all the supplements, it's awesome SCP-682 Hard to Destroy Reptile SCP-096 The "Shy Guy" If you look on Youtube, there are multiple SCP related videos, including multiple voice overs created as readings of SCP documents and supplemental. Enjoy!
I'm on my second read-through of the database. They've opened up the Series 3 just recently, and it's pretty quickly filling up.
I like the one that gives you absolute knowledge of some random thing. Only works once, and can be something awesome like fusion power, or something pointless like 18th century nail making techniques. Don't remember the number.
These would be great as an Unsolved Mysteries-type show. I remember seeing a few channels on YouTube about them but they were all just somebody reading the wiki over a Ken Burns slideshow so they were kinda pointless.
One of my early projects was making a half-life mod where you were essentially running a facility with alien containment cells and you'd go out with a hovercraft and try to bring aliens back to base. I mostly ever finished up the crude craft and parts of base. This is incredibly cool stuff!
Deathwatch's let's play series on this is probably one of the funniest videos series I've ever seen on youtube. Is he still around? Haven't seen him in a long time.
To some extent, yeah, I think he is. Hasn't been very active though, he's actually just logged in today.
I sense his presence and sometimes link to his mind by accident so he's around. Probably just not enough to get him engaged directly or alternatively he could be experiencing that shitty thing where your body is out of phase with physical world and can't interact properly.
Oh man, I forgot about this one. Remember "The Bloop"? The sound that was picked up by multiple, far spaced hydrophones? This one is based around that sound. SCP-169 - The Leviathan
A few more interesting/awesome ones: SCP-007 - Abdominal Planet SCP-044 - World War II Era Molecular-Fission Cannon SCP-050 - To The Cleverest - This one is just hilarious SCP-058 - Heart of Darkness SCP-140 - An Incomplete Chronicle SCP-143 - The Bladewood Grove More to come as I read them.
SCP-106 - The Old Man SCP-111 - Dragon-Snails™ SCP-114 - Bringer of Conflist SCP-124 - Fertile Soil SCP-129 - Progressive Fungal Infection SCP-131 - The "Eye Pods" SCP-156 - Reanimating Pomegranates SCP-161 - Pinwheel of Doom!
