A healthy serving of Crystal Head Vodka in a cocktail with XXX Vitamin water to keep me pumped with alcohol and electrolytes during battle.

Interesting...I need to try this. Do you recommend any particular variety of beer?

I've only tried it with a plain pilsner, so try it out with a bud or something like that :)

Sadly, I can't drink beer anymore. Allergic to the stuff, throat closes a bit and can't breathe so good; so I decided to get into Whisk(e)y.

    My Scotch of choice is:

For Irish Whiskey, I like having Tullamore Dew onhand:

And I just started buying this Finnegan 8yr stuff:

For the American style, I have Bullit Rye, and it's alright but I need to do more tasting around. Not a fan of bourbons, so most American Whiskeys are right out. (Makers Mark 46 is a rare exception)

Canadian peoples, I need your input on a fine Canadian Whiskey. Not a fan of Crown Royal, or Canadian Mist, but I'm willing to try something new.

And I haven't had anything from the fine Japanese folks at Suntory. But it's in the Scotch style, so odds are I'll like it.

    suntory is rotgut, avoid it.

Try Seagram's 7 for a good Canadian whiskey.

For true drunkenness I must recommend a local favorite for the cold winter nights.

This is the weak version, strong comes in at 190 proof.

But for taste any good scotch will do for me.

The first thing I got sick off of was southern comfort, Can't drink it without feeling queasy even today, 36 years later. Hell just a whiff of its aroma makes me feel ill,.

Weird, because it is one of the better tasting liquors.

I drift between ambers, IPAs, DIPAs and fresh-hop ales (the three former we are blessed with in much abundance in Oregon :D). Double bourbon rocks when I'm not drinking beer. At the bar, I've been known to consume Rye or Scotch. But never Irish.

Oregon's Oakshire, Ninkasi, Calapooia, Klamath Brewing Co., Hopworks Urban breweries all make some pretty great ales. Lagunitas of California (usually meh) has a solid DIPA in Hop Stoopid. I reach for North Coast Brewing's Old Rasputin when I want a stout.

    Best thread ever.

I love finding a good micro-brew at my local grocery store! Granted we have webs between our toes but us PNW guys have some of the worlds best beer to choose from!!
