We are trying to determine interest in Wildstar. I could not attach a poll to the existing thread, so we started a new one.

I'm not sure we really needed 'have no interest' option on that poll, doesn't even adequately show whether those people truly have no interest in this particular game, or simply have no interest in an MMO in general. Though I suppose it shouldn't hurt anything to have it there, just seems redundant XD (only reason I could see to vote there would be out of curiosity to see the results of the poll)

It seems the majority of people who have cast their vote disagree with you.

When 7/12 vote for a single option, Occam's razor would lead us to believe that it was because that was the option they viewed as the most accurate, rather than an arbitrary (and somewhat abstract reasoning) that they all happened to share.

Let's focus on the people who are interested please, rather than those not. :p

While I am interested in the game, playing in one of the beta weekends (several weeks ago) put me off slightly. Mostly small things which were most likely just incomplete since it's a beta, but I have a larger concern with the game's quests. Every quest I did was the typical MMO quest where one can simply turn off one's brain and simply kill everything in sight and click on anything shiny. And then I got to a new town on one of my characters and experienced COMPLETE QUEST OVERLOAD—I went from having at most about ~5-8 quests at a time to immediately picking up about 15. And several of those quests took me to places where I could pick up more quests. Having that many quests at once actually made me not want to do quests anymore. It was just too much. The only saving grace was the Path system, but even the quests for those were a bit too scripted for my tastes (especially for the Settler). Hopefully I can get in another beta weekend closer to release so I can see what has been improved to get a more accurate feel of what the game will be like at launch.

Don't give up now bro! You only need a half dozen people or so.

there's a lot of quests that are simple basic kill stuff or collect other stuff, but there are several times when there'll be something on top of that, such as having to gather items and sometimes that item will give you more or less stuff, or spawn a enemy or even a mini game, there's tons of challenges from just killing a bunch of things in a time limit to collecting butterflies and even climbing up a giant structure in your home. Crafting is really cool because not only do they have an interesting and unique method of crafting with each system containing it's own way to improve upon items and whatnot, but even the gathering quests can be diverting, someone was saying how they were mining, and opened up a hole under a node that contained a ton of other nodes inside, and another time when the node itself got up and ran off! This game is about more than the typical 'level up to end game' they've put so much into the humor and background and story of just about everything, I did every single quest in one zone (far as I know) and enjoyed every minute of it, I'm not sure if anything was different from when you tried to when did, but even the generic 'kill blah creature' quests were enjoyable because while I was doing that task I'd get distracted by a challenge or run over by gazelle and get an achievement. There's even a little story arc in THAT, a little girl will come along and tisk at another NPC who apparently got run over as well, and say something to the manner of 'I told her so' (I don't remember the exact lines, but it was cute and amusing when I saw that)

I'll admit that I'm very impressed with this game and while I don't expect everyone to share my enthusiasm I do hope those who are willing to give it a chance, at the very least watch the videos, they give a really good indication of the humor that is probably one of the absolute best parts of this game, I will admit humor is very important to me overall, one of the most memorable moments in my MMO life is simply the first time I heard XT-002, I nearly died laughing when I heard that giant robot with the voice and mentality of a 4 year old XD (the raid literally died, laughing) gameplay is enjoyable, I don't agree about the path system being too scripted, there was one point in the Settler path where I had to try and land on top of a giant statue, using a waterspout as a boost to get there in order to place a video camera to keep tabs on crazy amazons XD

One of the things I found out from Hunter was that the game is region locked. So if you have purchased it in the EU, you will be locked to the EU servers. You can apparently have it changed, but I imagine that will be an issue.

yeah I heard about that, it's pretty common for games of this nature, but still unfortunate.
