With MW5 and Star Citizen still a long way off from a "functional release" date, I'm really hoping we can find a few games that everyone can reach common ground on. As always, I make it my personal mission to ONLY recommend games that I am absolutely confident are worth our attention as a community. In the spirit of building a stronger community, please consider the following games this winter sale: SPECIAL NOTE: This list specifically includes only games that allow for more than 4 players to play together. The intent is to encourage our members to be a part of our community, promote teamwork, and play together on a larger scale. We also have our more expansive "Recommended Game List", but for the short-term, the games below will be our focus for community activities. Please show your support! Priority List (IN APHABETICAL ORDER) This game has seen consistent progress and all signs point to this game shaping up to be something truly special. The devs have done a great job of creating a unique experience and balancing that with player feedback. Don't let the deceptively simple gameplay highlights fool you; this game is far more than just "minecraft in space". Many of us already own this game and we eagerly await it reaching full release state later in 2019. We are 100% certain we will be hosting a long-term dedicated server for this game after full release and we strongly encourage all of you to join us! This game will also be great practice for our community while we wait for a later, more polished experience in Star Citizen. Number of Players Supported: Nearly Unlimited! Suspected Full Release: Spring of 2019 (we will be launching a dedicated server after full release) Current Price: $13.50 This one was kind of a surprise acquisition for many of us. We stumbled upon it on a day it was available for "free forever" so many of us already own it. The game allows for some very unique and fun gameplay that produces some pretty hilarious results. This is one of those games where you have fun even if you are losing. Another solid recommendation for a large group of us to play together and relatively lightweight on your hard drive. Number of Players Supported: up to 8 players Suspected Full Release: COMPLETE Current Price: $5.00 This is one most of you should already have, but for those who don't here is another opportunity to be a part of the community. Although at first glance this may appear to be a rather generic top-down shooter, the game has a surprising amount of detail going on under the hood. It has also easily been one of our more consistent performers in terms of large player cooperative play. Cannot recommend this enough. For the small amount of space it will occupy on your hard drive, it delivers a surprisingly large amount of fun. Number of Players Supported: Nearly Unlimited! Suspected Full Release: COMPLETE Current Price: $4.50 Recommended New Additions A silly fun physics game we can all play together. Notably, this game is a very small download and should run easily even for those of us with potato computers. Again, something easy we can all play together. Number of Players Supported: up to 8 players Suspected Full Release: COMPLETE Current Price: $7.50 Please note: ONLY buy this when it is on deep discount... like right now for example. This game is a hilarious and over-the-top throwback to oldschool FPS' like Doom and Quake. This is a game anyone can play; no instruction or tutorial needed. However, don't let its simplicity turn you off. What distinguishes this game from countless other shooters is that it also has SIXTEEN PLAYER COOP! You will be hard pressed to find that anywhere else! Add to the fact that the game features interesting level puzzles and many alternate game modes, and you have a big, fun bullet party on your hands. Number of Players Supported: 16 player coop or pvp Suspected Full Release: COMPLETE Current Price: $4.00 I see this game fitting in well as a "different kind of strategy" with our other strategy games. Essentially, it contains a generous helping of Game of Thrones murder and intrigue in an easy to process board game package. The game is fun and engaging and will allow a large number of us to play together. The more people play, the deeper the cloak and dagger gameplay becomes! Number of Players Supported: large scale multiplayer Suspected Full Release: COMPLETE Current Price: $4.90 Free Forever Downloads Just a quick mention to keep these on your radar as well: Guild Wars 2 - we are planning a group for this after the winter holidays Mechwarrior Online - Solo and 8ball carry the torch for us and the game that started this all on Monday. Star Trek Online - Moro is organizing a group for this on Thursdays Sven Coop - just a silly old school fps using the Half Life engine to create a bunch of different game modes (ex. classic Doom, but with coop) Transformice - pure unadulterated coop chaos World of Warships - we have a lot of players already playing this pretty regularly
