My favorite is a good stinky piece of blue goat cheese at near room temperature with some wheat thins
I'm biased to a lot of the stuff I got hooked on in Italy. Every week I went out to the corner butcher shops and delis and would grab a different meat and a different cheese, preferably one I hadn't had before. I grew to love the various pecorino varieties for throwing in my pastas and lasagnas, gettin some asiago on sandwiches, and hell gorgonzola is incredible on a pizza with raw ham. I'll just come out and say that very few things beat fresh mozzarella with a few slices of tomato, sprinkled with salt, and drizzled in olive oil.
OMG I'm jelly. So very jelly. I can't imagine how good cheeses and meats from a small deli in Italy are.
Every morning there was a guy that drove a truck through the neighborhood with fresh balls of mozzarella. Incredible. Its kinda spoiled me though, now I'm just perpetually disappointed that I can't find stuff like that in the states.
There is a wood oven pizza place here that does a goat cheese pizza that is fucking amazing. Man, i also now have to go to ifaly.. thanks
I wouldn't mind doing like a culinary tour of Europe. Would love to try some stuff that is either unavailable or uncommon here in the states. And Italian cheeses. Those are a must.
Well, unless you want to meet up after 11 PM Zaius, Tues or Wed is going to be our window of opportunity. I'll PM you my cell number
Speaking of which, we need to get some kind of member photo thread up and running so we can see who the ugliest son of a bitch is. I cast a vote for myself.
