Dihm and I played this last night, and had a blast. it has four player co-op, and we're looking for two brave souls to help us destroy Hitler and his army of nazi zombies.
The movement of the zombies is quite good, especially as limbs get removed. Not always easy to predict where they're headed, and it's nice to not have 'fast zombies' that crowd today's media for a change. The game does a very good job of ramping up pressure rather than being frenetic
I have it. bought it awhile ago and now have it installed. I saw the 8 L4D characters are in. I did a little bit of solo so I am not completely useless at the beginning. And learned that I hate the MP40.
yessss join usssss. the secondaries really are weapons of last resort. And they're mostly just garbage. The MP44, the Thompson, and to a lesser extent the shotty can be useful. The Preacher and the Panzerfaust are super usefull, situationally, but you have to find them mid-mission, and they're usually hidden with VERY limited ammo.
I only got to use the mp40 and blyskawica and the blys was much better than the 40 only because it only took 2-3 shots to kill a zombie. still preferred my rifle. from the wiki it sounds like (not in any order) the rifles to use are the mosin nagant, gewehr 43, m1 garand (not carbine), and type 99? Am I reading that right?
Dihm tends to use the Lee-Enfield and I tend to use the Gewehr. Frankly, muzzle velocity is a non issue, your engagement ranges are never very far, and you want to find a good mid point for velocity, magazine size, and recoil. The Enfield fires pretty quickly for a bolt action and the Gewehr has almost no recoil, so thats kind of where we've found ourselves. Really use whichever rifle you like the best though.
enfield is nice. i like the m1d garand too. really the only 2 rifles i've tried so far. and holy crap on solo when the skeletons first show up. I could only survive because of kicking 50 of the damn things (may be a bit of an exaggeration but not much.)
I tend to bounce back and forth between the Enfield and Gewehr, definitely my two favorites. If we are in a tight environment or siege I'll go German engineering every time
