And yes, I'm sure you figured it would, but just to confirm, Shields do work against Physical attacks. Punch (Right Arm) at Knecht KNT-993 (Dihm); needs 8, rolls 11 : - Direct Blow - hits (using Punch table) LA Knecht KNT-993 (Dihm) takes 12 damage to LA. 7 points absorbed by a shield. 19 Armor remaining.
Magnus, have you had any success with finding a use for C3 networks? I thought a C3i network formed with two Nova CEWS systems might be beneficial for a light mech and an indirect fire support, but it seems completely ineffectual. I take that back, it builds two waste heat for no additional benefit
God damn piece of shit.... Okay, so the reason I couldn't get it working is because you have to set up the Network in the LOBBY. You can't do it in the match
Indirect missile fire isn't compatible with C3. It only works with direct fire weapons, and I don't think it works with missiles at all.
FYI. Nova CEWS system is currently NOT functional as a C3i system in MegaMek, with a fancy handy UI. This functionality has NOT been implemented in the current build. In order to link up units utilizing a Nova CEWS you have to use the Chat command line, which will link the systems at the end of the turn This command will change the nova net at end of turn. /nova print - will print info about your current nova linksp /nova print ID - will print the network for ID /nova link ID ID - will link the two IDs into their own network. Unlinks from all other networks /nova link ID ID ID - will link the 3 IDs in their own network. Unlinks from all other networks /nova unlink - will unlink all /nova unlink ID - will unlink ID http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=85e2ib3jklk89br0ctvkd9h3r1&topic=54624.0
Okay, just ignore that, cause fuck it. It keeps telling me there is no network created, but there are two unlinked things, but when I try to print their ids it is an unrecognized command. Just don't use Nova CEWS.
The AI is completely unable to figure out how to use Shields it seems. They are not able to switch them on to Passive or Active. Shields should be kept as 'Lancer tech only' I think. They are just tonnage and BV wastes on the bot.
HUGE NOTE If you plan to 'tank' with a Shield or Hardened armor, the damage check that is done at the end of the firing phase for total damage taken is damage that HITS you, not that is removed from your mech. If your Large Shield absorbs 10 ER Medium Laser shots at 7 damage in one round, guess what? You're rolling to fall down as if you had taken 70 damage even though you didn't tick off a single box. Shields don't work when you're prone. Piloting skillz important y'all's Practice practice practice. If you are interested in a tech, check it out thoroughly. There is a LOT of cool stuff
Huh? Yeah, a lot of this stuff is Tac and Strat Ops. Let's just say after I have Witnessed Chrome, I have plans. If anyone has anything they want me to try out, or anything they want to test together, lemme know
i'm looking into adding some custom unit's to Alpha strike. And I have to ask. when you are rounding numbers to figure out your total damage after doing the heat penalty are you supposed to round up or down if the result of this ends up on a .5
